Shift work
You know, after 27 years you would think it would dawn upon me that shiftwork is no good for you. I am a nurse. Shiftwork is a part of my working life, as hospitals are open 24/7. I am , ahem, senior enough that I can demand, and expect that I will not be rostered to work over the weekend. I also do not work nightshift (10pm to 8am). I do work, however, a variety of shifts commencing from morning to evening, and we are very short staffed and busy at the moment that we are working double shifts several times per week. Great for the pay packet (and the taxman) but not so good for the personal life, and really, I do not need the money. I work because I like it and I am good at it. I also like being at home with my family. When will the bureaucrats realise that more money needs to be injected into the health system to enable the training and recruitment of more staff???
OK, yet another rant from me...
I love my job, really!!!

Are you getting enough sleep, bouncing all around the clock like that?
