FunTrivia blogs to close...
The blogs were an experiment I whipped up one cold winter day. I never really had any expectations for them, since this is a trivia site afterall. I guess I made them more for the challenge of making them rather than for any real use ;)
It seems their popularity has dropped to the point where there is really no use keeping them around. By removing them there is more time to put effort into other parts of the site, and one less things for editors and moderators to have to keep track of.
So, FunTrivia blogs will likely be closing soon. I'll keep the content in your blogs there for some time, so that you can copy / paste anything you'd like to save.
Thanks to everyone who partook in them and gave them a whirl. Feel free to post final farewells on your blogs :)
P.S. as you've probably noticed recently, the focus of the site is shifting to "teams" and "local players". It's my belief that these will form the basis for the FunTrivia social experience in the future.
For those who like posting thoughts and other things, we have a large number of chat boards and community forums for you to post on, so you can still write all you'd like in those places.
Thanks to Indiequeen and the other moderators for keeping an eye on the "blog experiment".
P.P.S. I will probably keep the blog software in the background, so that editors and moderators can maintain their own informational blogs if they so choose.

I am very, very sad about this. Do you have a specific stop date?

We were happy to do it, Terry. I love my blog and I'll miss it, but there's no sense leaving them around for just a few of us.
Oh darn, this means Joanie and I have to find a new way to plot our Thelma and Louise style getaway.

What a shame. It seems we had a small but loyal following with the blogs, but I guess it's probably too much trouble to keep up with just a few regular bloggers.

Thank you Terry. Now when I take trivia breaks I'll read the chat forums "join my team". Thanks for the effort it took to keep them this long.
So does this mean my trip with my new friends Indie and Joanie is cancelled...it is not every day I get asked to blow things up from a float...

This is making me very sad. I've used the blogs for a year!
Well, maybe there's nothing I can do to change it. I'd also like to know the answer to Bionic's question.

These blogs have turned into more than blogs for me...it's been a lifestyle. Every day I would check up on my friends' blogs, check for any comments, and sometimes make a new blog post. It's been a lot of fun, and I know that I'll still be able to keep in touch via notes...but the blogs, one of my favorite aspects of FunTrivia,, were always a great convienence to me...to be able to share my ideas and conduct group activities, shar my feelings and whatnot. It's not like I'll be leaving FunTrivia or anything, it's just that I'll never be able to forget the great times that I've had with these blogs, and that I really hope that they stay.

As of November 5th, they're still up! Does this mean our blogs get a reprieve? I'm still trying to figure out HOW to blog in a welcoming environment!

I just recently started my blog (Nov 30/08) I was blissfully unaware that the blogs were on the chopping block or I might not not have started my blog. That's the glass half empty. The glass half full says that I'm glad I didn't know...in a very short time I've met some neat people, and had the pleasure of reading some of what those FT folks shared in their blogs. So, I guess it's a mixed feeling thing for me. But, like others, I commend Terry for the time and effort to create and offer the FT Blogs for us. :-)
