Manaus. Manaus although only accessible by boat when first developed, has always been the most important city in northwestern Brazil. It has a grand opera house built in the 1800s. It is now a city of over a million. Until this century it was only accessible by water or air, but it is now accessible by road.
Minas Gerais. "Ouro Preto" is located in Minas Gerais, and it literally means "Black Gold" and the city is called that, because it is the town that has produced the most gold of all Brazilian areas. The gold found there was a darker shade of gold, which was rarer at the time of mining so it was more valuable. The town today, though very touristic, still has no airport or large hotel chains. It wants to remain as it was in the 1700's when gold was actually being mined there.
Rio De Janeiro. This city has the same case as Sao Paulo. The capital city is also the name of the state. Similar to that of New York City, except it's not the capital. Rio De Janeiro is a very popular tourist town and it has about five million people living in it.
Pico da Neblina. Pico de Neblina is the highest mountain in Brazil, and it is over 3,000 meters tall, (about 9,300 feet). It is located in the Brazilian state of Roraima, and the peak itself is only several miles from the border of Venezuela, and parts of the foot of the mountain are actually in Venezuela.
ten . Brazil borders ten countries. They are Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Franch Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela. Its longest border is shared with the country of Bolivia, on the central-western border. Brazil is the largest country in South America, and thus, most likely will have the largest border.

Chile is about 2,600 miles long, while Brazil is over 2,800 miles long, so Brazil takes the cake here too. Although most people believe Chile to be longer, Brazil is actually the longer one.

Parana. The Itaipu dam is located in Parana. (My home state) Paraguay and Brazil share the electricity that is produced in this dam. Since Paraguay can't use nearly all that electricity, it sells about 46 of its 50 percent of electricity back to Brazil, and gets a hefty check from that. I have visited the dam, and it is quite astonishing. It has 17 turbines to make electricity, and for the majority of the time, all of the turbines are used.
Parana River . The Parana River forms a large part of the Brazilian border. The city where the electricity is produced is called "Foz Do Iguacu".
For the gold, the sky and the forests. The Brazilian flag consists of a blue circle on a yellow diamond-shaped figure, placed on a green background. The green color represents Brazil's fields and forests, the yellow stands for the gold Brazil had abundantly and the blue represents the vivid sky you usually find in tropical countries.
Ecuador and Chile. Ecuador is bordered by Colombia and Peru, while Chile is only bordered by Peru, Bolivia and Argentina.

White. According to the 2000 IBGE census, the Brazilian population consists of white people (53,6%), pardo (38,5%), black (6.2%), asian( 0,5%), amerindian (0,4%) and 0,7% of unspecified ethnicity.
