British Columbia
Canada's westernmost province. Beautiful beaches and excellent ocean fishing.
The Rocky Mountains. The Rocky Mountains run through the south-east corner of BC, and north into Alberta.

George Vancouver. Vancouver and two Spanish sailors circumnavigated and carefully measured in 1792 what we now call Vancouver Island.

The Queen Charlottes. The Queen Charlottes are wild, misty and home to the Haida peoples. There are over 6000 islands, in total, off the northwest coast of BC.

Craigellachie. 'A plain iron spike welded East to West', on November 7, 1885. (a really nice rest area and information centre is there now)

Victoria. Victoria is situated on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. The Juan de Fuca strait separates it from Washington's Olympic Peninsula.
Fraser. This river is named after Simon Fraser the explorer. He also gave his name to one of Vancouver's universities.
Coast Mountains. The Rockies are in eastern B.C. The range of mountains that runs north-south down western North America has various names. Coast Mountains in B.C. Cascades in Washington and Sierra Madre in Mexico.
Okanagan. This is a lovely lake with many resorts around it.
Ogopogo. The Ogopogo is a serpent like creature.
Alaska. In the summer Vancouver is the starting point for many cruise ships which sail north to visit Alaska.
Alberta. The Rockies form the border between B.C. and Alberta.
Idaho . Washington in the west, then Idaho and then Montana.
Donald Station. Donald Station has a very beautiful billboard sign along the Trans-Canada Highway welcoming you to its village of 20 inhabitants.
Horseshoe Bay. The ferry service from Horseshoe Bay has been running and operating since 1965 and still runs today!
On your way to Whistler from Vancouver, if you look across the Howe Sound. near Britannia Beach, you'll see a large pulp mill. What is the name of this little village set around this mill? | Gotta Love British Columbia!

Woodfibre. 98 percent of the village's working residents have jobs related to the mill. The other person owns and runs the harbour and the corner store.
Banks Island. Banks Island is located west of Kitimat and just south of the Queen Charlotte Islands.
Garibaldi. The Blackcomb Glacier on the backside of the mountain is split down the middle. Half of it is in Garibaldi Provincial Park and the other half is owned by the mountain. You are still able to ski in the area though :)
Aspen Grove. Aspen Grove is the beginning of Highway 97C and has one of the only public gas stations on the Connector.
Grand Cache. Grand Cache is located in Alberta west of Prince George and just outside of Jasper National Park's northern boundary.
Waterton Lakes National Park. Waterton Lakes is situated on the southern border of Alberta and just east of the B.C. border.

Dawson Creek. Dawson Creek is the start of the Alaska Highway which goes North-west to Fairbanks.
Isadore Boucherie. Isadore Boucherie was an early settler who settled in Westbank in the early 20th Century.
