Jordan River. The Jordan River is merely 223 miles or 359 kilometers long. It's most famous crossing is on the road from Jerusalem to Allenby Bridge and is the shortest way between Jerusalem and Amman.
Gulf of Mexico. For part of the Rio Grande's course this 1885 mile long river, is the boundary between USA and Mexico.
North Sea. The Rhine is a very important commercial river in Europe.
Caspian Sea. The Volga is Europe's longest river and, like the Rhine, a very important waterway. It also connects to the Baltic by canals and other rivers.
Mediterranean . The Nile is the longest river in the world at 4,150 miles.
Bay of Bengal. The Ganges, which is sacred to Hindus, rises in the Himalayas and runs through Indian and Bangladesh.
Atlantic . This central African river is 2,900 miles long.
Pacific . The Columbia, which rises in British Columbia, Canada, flows through Washington state and, for, the last part of its course forms the boundary between Washington and Oregon. It has many dams, including the Grand Coulee Dam.
Black Sea. The Danube was made famous by Johann Strauss' 'Blue Danube Waltz'
Atlantic . The Amazon is world's second longest river. It is the world's biggest river in terms of volume. It rises in northern Peru and flows through northern Brazil to the Atlantic.
