 Drop Dead Gorgeous
Mount Rose, Minnesota. Technically a fictional city, but in Minnesota their is a town named Montrose, which is a equal substitute for Mount Rose.
Leeman's Furniture. The pattern of bribery in order for Becky to win all involves some sort of offer from Leeman's Furniture.
Lutheran Sisterhood Gun Club. When Becky got her first gun in middle school, her mother wrote on the card, 'Jesus loves winners.'
Don't Cry Out Loud. The song is by Melissa Manchester.
Diane Sawyer. At one point Amber is overjoyed to switch numbers for the pageant, because 'eight is my lucky number anyways, that's Diane Sawyer's number.'
Freda. This is in the opening scene, with the mayor on the side of the highway with the sign in the back, yelling about how Freda was now dead and that the Shriners were lazy for not taking it down yet.
Judy Garland. The best part with Lisa is when she is leaving the pageant with her father and says, 'You know what dad, you know what? Peter's gay. GAY!'
Beef Jerky in her Pocket. Even with her constant dog talk, Tess is quite an interesting character, especially when she shows off her 'lucky bolt' that probably fell from a DC-10 and if it had hit her head any differently, she would be dead.
Sarah Rose Cosmetics. 'Sarah Rose Knows....' At the beginning of the movie, they show a movie about Sarah Rose Miss Teen America Pageant with host...Adam West, but the film is cut short, as it had been taped over by 'Days of Our Lives'.

The interviews are stacked against Amber by Gladys Leeman, so while everyone else gets the question, 'If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?' Amber gets 'Name and spell all the United States in alphabetical order.' Her response-- 'Seriously?'
Annette. When she gets shot out of her trailer while drinking a beer, she exclaims, 'I now know how Jiffy Pop feels' while in the hospital.
Mount Rose. Mount Rose is a fictional town located outside of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolis.
Denise Richards. Her other credits include "Wild Things", with Neve Campbell and Kevin Bacon.
Loretta. This is easily one of Loretta's funniest lines in the movie.

twine. Her small replica of the twine ball then rolls off of her head.
She is burned in the belly of a swan. This event creates of the best scenes in the movie, as Kristy Alley screams out, "The swan ate my baby!"

Mount Rose American Teen Princess Pageant. "Now ladies, the rest of the tape (which is now gone forever) goes on to talk about that great journey, which we call, the American Teen Princess Pageant. Now, any of you young ladies who would like to start on the journey, you just come right down here and sign up. And please, help yourself to some coffee and bars." ~Gladys Leeman, President of the Civil Servettes.
Note: this is not a real pageant.
Tammy Curry. Poor Tammy, her thresher explodes while she is riding it, causing her early demise. Leslie Miller was played by Amy Adams, Amber Atkins was played by Kirsten Dunst, Rebecca Leeman was played by Denise Richards, and Tammy Curry was played by Brooke Bushman. (Brittany Murphy was also in this movie, playing the character Lisa Swenson, one of the contestants.)
