Devon was auditioning the day after he got his head shaved and while the others waited for their turn, Jason asked Charles about his socks. Charles had on socks with stripes running across them that were up to his knees. Charles just responded with, "Don't worry about my socks man, it's a tuba thang shorty."

Jason. Jason lost a section challenge to his roommate, Donnell Jones, before the Homecoming Game. However he ended up winning his spot back in another challenge the practice before the BET Classics. Devon was polishing the drums as a punishment but Jason happened to come in and he decided to help him.

whacked. The band was in the hallway waiting to play in the game when Sean said, "Don't drop your sticks." Devon then replied with, "Don't worry I won't." Sean then tried to explain to him the pressure one felt when performing in front of a group of people but Devon just replied with, "It must be worse for someone with a whacked solo." He said this because he believed that Sean didn't play the solo very well and so he should play it instead.

Dr. Lee. Dr. Lee got mad at Devon for showing off by playing Sean's solo. He yelled at them after the performance and that was when he told them to resolve the issues between them and made Sean polish the drums.

He wanted to impress her.. Devon liked Laila so he went up to the counter when she ordered food and paid. However he also told the cashier to keep the change and so Laila called him a big spender. The important aspect of this event was that they went to the party together afterward and established a relationship.

He was part of a fraternity.. Ernest was in a hurry because there was a ceremony for the fraternity he was a part of. He was eating hamburgers and chugging down his drink like there was no tomorrow.

To learn how to read music. Dr. Lee told Sean to play the new piece but then he insisted that Devon play it. Devon refused however because he couldn't read music; instead he memorized the beat. When Dr. Lee found out about this however he told Devon that he couldn't play on the drumline until he learned how to read music.

Flight of the Bumblebee. At a game against Morris Brown, Morris Brown's band played a hip, more modern day piece. In return however, Dr. Lee said to play the "Flight of the Bumblebee", which was a classical but boring piece.
| After the football game against Morris Brown, Mr. Wade offered Devon to a chance play for his line. However, Dr. Lee took the card with Mr. Wade's phone number on it and said what? | Drumline

"I'll just use it as toliet paper instead.". Devon was loading the drums into the vehicle when Mr. Wade came by and said, "Is this how they make you earn your scholarship?" Then Dr. Lee came over and took the card when Mr. Wade offered Devon a spot on his drumline next year.

Devon played on his drum.. Devon had a very bad temper so when the other school's line used their hand and made a 'bring it on' gesture, Devon came forward and played on the other guy's drum. Also at the BET Classics, Morris Brown attempted to trigger Devon's temper again by playing on A and T's drums.
