 Ella Enchanted
The gift of obedience. Ella had to do everything that she was told, whether it was her will or not.
He didn't have a son. Sir Edgar didn't have a son, but he did have a nephew named Char, who was adored by almost everyone.
Purple. Olive's favorite color was purple and Hattie's favorite color was orange, as you saw in the movie.
A man who was turned in to a book. Benny was a man who was changed into a book. At the end he was changed back into a man again and helped Ella and Char fight the soldiers who were trying to capture Ella.

Kill Char. Since Char was the son of the real king, this meant that he had a right to the throne. Edgar wanted Char murdered so he could still be king and then no one could take the throne away from him. He killed his own brother for the same reason...the throne.

She tied herself to a tree with chains so that she couldn't go to the ball. She thought this would work but then Lucinda came along and untied her so she had to go to the ball!
The Hall of Mirrors (The Mirror Room, The Hallway, Right there in the ballroom). Just like his father proposed to Char's mother.
"Oops!". Edgar grabbed the crown and put it on his head. Then he realized that he had poisoned it and then he said, "Oops!" and dropped to the ground.

She was turned into a toad. Lucinda turned Hattie into a toad so she could marry a prince...who was a toad prince. She asked to marry a prince of the same species and that's what she got!
ogres. The ogres enjoyed eating people. They said that if you eat a maiden, an hour later you are hungry again. They helped Slannen save Ella in the end. When they went in, they almost tried to eat the guard but Slannen wouldn't let them do it.
Mandy. Mandy was not a very good fairy. She was always messing up her spells. She was trying to give her boyfriend a haircut once and turned him into a book. She was also given the gift of eternal youth.
Edgar. Edgar was the ruler of the land. He was evil and he wanted Char dead because he wanted to be king. He even stooped to trying to get Ella to kill him when he found out she did what she was told. The last thing he tried was to poison Char's crown, but he ended up putting it on his own head.
Olive. Olive was Hattie's sister. She was always with Hattie. I don't even think she had a mind of her own. She was probably as evil and mean to Ella as Hattie was.
Benny. Mandy turned her boyfriend, Benny into a book. She was trying to cut his hair and the spell went askew. When you opened up his pages he could show you things. He tried to help Ella find Lucinda but he didn't succeed. Mandy finally successfully turned him back into a man at the end of the movie.
Hattie. Hattie was putting up posters, when she and her family first moved in with Ella and her father. Hattie and Ella had a debate at school and Hattie talked about how wonderful Char was. Hattie thought she would be the one to marry Char.
Char. Char kept saving Ella's life throughout the movie. The first time he pulled her off the road because a horse and cart were coming towards her. Then, the ogre's almost killed and ate her but Char saved her life. In the end, Ella saved Char's life by letting him know that Edgar was trying to kill him.
Heston. Heston went to the giant's wedding to spy on Ella and Char. He was evil and also wanted Char killed so Edgar could become king.
An elf. Slannen was the elf that Ella saved from being killed. He wanted to be a lawyer.
Arieda. Ella stood up for Arieda at her party when a couple of other girls said Arieda was worthless. Ella told them that she wanted them at her party. At the opening of the mall, Ella said say no to ogercide and Arieda said stop the giant land grab. This meant that Ella and Arieda were trying to help the ogres. It also meant that Ella and Arieda did not want Edgar to take the land of the giants. They were on the same side because they were best friends.
Hattie. When Hattie said this, she was talking to Ella about the necklace that Ella was wearing. This necklace had been given to her by her mother right before she had died. Hattie commanded her to hand over the necklace (even though she didn't know about the curse) and Ella had no choice.
Edgar. Edgar was questioning Char about who he wanted to marry, as if he might change his mind! Edgar asked this question when he was talking to Char in his chambers. Char decided he wanted to marry Ella but, of course, Edgar was planning to stir up some trouble.

Obedience. Ella was given obedience. In some ways that was a good gift but in more ways it was not.
When she was talking to someone at school they said "bite me" but they didn't mean it literally. Unfortunately she had to bite them, but it didn't matter too much because she didn't much like that person.
Hattie and Olive. Hattie was older than Olive, more annoying, cleverer and more obsessed with Prince Char. Hattie was the president of his fan club.
They were both nasty to Ella, and horrible when they found out about her curse.
Slannen. Slannen was an elf who wanted to be a lawyer, not a performer. He saved Ella (sort of) near the end.
He was running away from girls and ran into Ella.. Hattie had told Ella to go home (she didn't expect Ella to really go, but she had to). Char was asked by one girl "Can you run fast?" and he said no, and someone said "Get him!". They ran at him, so he ran away as fast as he could. He accidently ran into Ella, and he shoved Ella behind a fence while the girls ran past.
Areida. Hattie found out that Ella had to do as she was told and ordered Ella to tell Areida to go away because she never wanted to see her again. As soon as Ella had got rid of the spell she told Areida what had happened.
When she was looking for her Lucinda. Ella met Slannen her way to find Lucinda. She was in a forest and saw some ogres trying to eat Slannen. She didn't know who Slannen was then. Slannen told her to fight them and she had to. She kicked him and things like that.
Slannen stayed with Ella. They tiptoed through Slannen's village but someone saw them. The other elves started singing and dancing, which Slannen hated. Finally they got away.
Giant country. They went to Giant country because that was the only way to get to where Char wanted to go. They had to go through Giant country, and Char decided to stay. Char saw the terrible conditions the giants had to live in and told Sir Edgar about it afterwards.
Slannen met the giant he danced with at the end.
Ella and Char kissed for the first time.
She stopped the curse with love, like her mother had told her.. Ella was told to stab Char in the heart at exactly midnight and she couldn't refuse. She made Slannen tie her with chains to a tree but Lucinda came and untied her. She went to the ball and held on to the table to stop herself from going to Char, but all she ended up doing was dragging the table with her.
Ella's mother had told Ella,just before she died, that she could break the curse with love. When Ella was in the chamber, and Char was about to propose to her, she had to kill Char. She really didn't want to, so she tried her best to stop herself, and managed. Just then Sir Edgar came in, and although Ella had stopped the curse, she still had the knife in her hand. Sir Edgar said she had tried to kill Char, and she was locked up.
Sir Edgar. Hattie and Olive told Sir Edgar that Ella had to do what she was told. Sir Edgar wanted to continue being King (therefore he wanted to kill Char) and so told Ella that at the ball Char would take her somewhere private and ask her a question. At the strike of midnight she would take a knife and stab it through his heart.

It was poisoned.. Sir Edgar poisoned the crown in one last atempt to kill Char. It didn't work, though. The elves stopped him from putting the crown on. Sir Edgar accidently put the crown on, and keeled over, unconcious. His last word was "oops".
