Barry . I thought this was weird because his name is Ben Barry and Andie's last name is Anderson.
Nelly. He played 'Hot in Herre' by Nelly when she was at his house. He decided to turn it off.
Composure. Andie is the "How To" girl for "Composure". She writes all of the "How To" articles, like "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days". Andie Anderson is played by Kate Hudson.
DeLauer. Ben will get the advertising job if he can make a woman fall in love with him in 10 days. Ben is played by Matthew McConaughey.
Staten Island. Ben takes Andie home for a weekend as a part of their couple's therapy. Andie learns that she is the first girl that Ben has brought home to meet his parents.
cards. Ben was the champion at cards his whole life. When he brought Andie home for the weekend, Ben's family helped her beat him.
New York Knicks. Ben and Andie go to the first NBA play off game of the season, rooting for the New York Knicks. Andie makes Ben miss the last few minutes of the game because she asks him to get her a soda. After he brings her the soda, she makes him get another one, because the one he brought back wasn't diet.
Celine Dion. Andie makes Ben think she has tickets to the Knicks game, but really they go to a Celine Dion concert.
You're So Vain. Andie had once played "You're So Vain" by Carly Simon, at Ben's apartment. When Andie gets drunk and makes Ben sing a song at the DeLauer Diamond party, Ben makes her sing a duet. They sing this song, but change the words to fit their relationship.
Michelle. Michelle is the fitness writer for "Composure" who recently went through a sad break up (even though they only dated for a week). Michelle's break up story is the inspiration for Andie's "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days" article. Michelle is played by Kathryn Hahn, who was also in the television series "Crossing Jordan".
Isadora. The Isadora diamond was a beautiful yellow diamond that matched Andie's yellow dress. It was named after Isadora Duncan, the mother of modern dance.
Washington D.C.. Andie says she's going to Washington D.C. because that's the only place she can be a serious writer. Ben calls her bluff, and tells her, she can be a serious writer anywhere, she's just running away. Of course Andie and Ben get back together!
Composure. "Composure" magazine was the fastest growing women's magazine in the country.
How To.... Andie's articles included "How to Talk Your Way Out of a Ticket" and "How to Get a Better Bod."
Bebe Neuwirth. Bebe Neuwirth played Lana, Andie's boss. Neuwirth could be seen in movies such as "The Faculty" or "Say Anything." She was also a regular on the TV show, "Cheers."
Celine Dion concert. Ben was bummed when, instead of walking out of a Knicks game with a beer, he walked out of a concert wearing a pink Céline Dion tee-shirt.
cucumber sandwiches. Andie took away the guys' junk food and replaced it all with a plate of healthy cucumber sandwiches.
motorcycle. Andie attempted learning to ride his motorcycle but could not drive it very well.
