Answer: Diana Ross

Diana Ross, lead singer of The Supremes, also acted in "Mahogany" and "The Wiz". She was nominted for an Academy Award for "Lady Sings the Blues", but did not win. Diana is known as a real diva.
2. What was Billie Holiday's real first name?

Answer: Eleanora

When the club owner asked her name, he looked confused when she said Eleanora. She took the name Billie from an actress she admired, whose name was on a newspaper the owner was reading.
3. What did Billie's mother do for a living?

Answer: Cook

Her mother was seen preparing a meal in her uniform, when the police bought Billie to the house. Billie had a good relationship with her mother and wanted to live with her, but her mother explained that the family that she worked for, and lived with, would be home soon, so Billie couldn't stay.

Answer: Big Ben

Big Ben had numerous limmericks about how good he was in bed. The longer he went on about his sexual skills, the more agitated Billie got. By the time Big Ben finally finished talking and got into the bed, Billie had gotten dressed and walked out the door.

They were just getting started, but they knew Billie would take them straight to the top. Billie was wary of being a colored singer with a white band. They had to go around the country and build a name for themselves before they could come back to New York and play downtown.

Harry and Reg were the ones who asked Billie to join the band. Harry's position in the band is never mentioned or shown. Billie originally refused the drugs, but after all the touring, she needed a pick me up. She promised Louis she'd stop and she did, until a run-in with the Ku Klux Klan caused her to start up again.
10. What product was the sponsor, who did not let Billie perform on the radio show, trying to sell?

Answer: Soap

Sunray soap ran a commercial during the show. It claimed to cure dull complexions. The network scout fought for Billie during the show, but Sunray wouldn't allow it. Billie sarcastically said "Everyone knows we don't use it." Billie and her family were very upset. Billie put on a smile for her mom and pretended it didn't bother her.
