Runaway Jury
St. Catherine. This was not the candle that he originally was going to buy. Marley was in the store with him and she pursuaded him to buy the St. Catherine because she was the saint of "unmarried women and jurors."
guns kill. He was an anti-gun activist who wanted on the jury and when he was denied he went nuts. A quote from him was "this nation is trying to kill itself and you want to give them the weapons to do it."
Lonnie. Lonnie Shaver was a grocer and the jury consultant knew by his body language that he would be unsympathetic to their side. By the end of the movie he was right, as Shaver and Herrara were the two to vote against.

Henry. Henry was played by Jack Massey, Jacob (husband) by Dylan McDermott, and Celeste by Joanna Going. Dylan McDermott also starred in "Where Sleeping Dogs Lie" in 1992 and co-starred on "The Practice" from 1997 to 2003.

9. During jury selection, Fitch's side was closely monitoring Easter. They saw him as a risk because they had very limited information on him. They ended up accepting him.
Nicholas Easter is in cohorts with the blackmailer, but the lawyers don't know that. They find out only when one of Fitch's men goes to Gardner, Indiana, to the blackmailer's home to interview the mother and find out how to catch him or her. This man discovers that the blackmailer's sister died in a high school shooting. The town pressed charges against the gun company, exactly like Celeste Wood, but Rankin Fitch won the jury over by using his tactics to select them. Margaret. Marlee's real name was Gabrielle, or Gaby as her mother calls her. In the end, even though Fitch pays the 15 million, Easter and Marlee let the jury vote with their hearts. Celeste Wood wins the case, and is awarded, in total, 111 million dollars! In the movie, this is the first time a jury has voted against a major gun manufacturing company.
Gary Fleder. Other credits to Gary Fleder's name: "Imposter", "Don't Say A Word", "Kiss the Girls", and "Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead".
Gerry Bamman . Gerry also starred in: "Superstar", "The Bodyguard", and "Great Expectations". He was born September 18th, 1941, in Independence, Kansas.
Frank Herrera. Frank Herrera (Cliff Curtis) liked to be in charge. He fought in Panama, but upon his return, took a job cleaning swimming pools. Fitch (Gene Hackman) said that he missed his position of authority. He was apparently right. Rikki Coleman (Rhoda Griffis) and Lonnie Shaver (Bill Nunn) suggested themselves after Frank; Nicholas Easter (John Cusack) did not suggest himself at all.
He was the only person who stood up to the judge and seemed to know something about the law.. Nicholas Easter suggested that Herman Grimes be foreman. Everybody seemed to like this idea except for Frank Herrera. However, he ended up voting for Herman too, making it a unanimous vote.
Vanessa Lembeck. Vanessa Lembeck (Jennifer Beals) was one of the most attractive members of the jury. She was tall, thin, and beautiful, making her irresistible to the male jurors. Jerry Hernandez (Luis Guzmán referred to her as a "tall glass of iced tea", though she did not hear him.
Grocery store manager. Fitch sent his people into the grocery business, so they could keep an eye on Lonnie Shaver. Lonnie had three kids to support, so although he didn't love his job, he put up with it. Fitch's people told him they were in the process of acquiring the store, and were thinking of giving him a bigger role in the operation of the store, which pleased him. Frank Herrera was the swimming pool cleaner; Nicholas Easter was the video game store clerk; Phillip Savelle (Jason Davis) was the yoga instructor.
They said the "Pledge of Allegiance".. Nicholas Easter never really had a dead friend, but he wanted to show Fitch and Rohr (Dustin Hoffman), that he could manipulate the jury. People suggested saying a prayer and singing "God Bless America", but both ideas were rejected. Millie Dupree (Rusty Schwimmer) suggested they say the "Pledge of Allegiance" in the courtroom. After Judge Harkin (Bruce McGill) entered and everyone sat back down, the jury remained standing and said the "Pledge of Allegiance".
Lydia Deets. At the voir dire, Lydia Deets and Nicholas Easter were sitting next to each other and she made a flirtatious remark. Marlee (Rachel Weisz) was not on the jury; Rikki Coleman and Millie Dupree were both married.
He needed to compete in the Madden football challenge.. Nicholas Easter was "trying" to get out of the jury. In reality, he wanted on the jury, and used an excuse that was guaranteed to tick off Judge Harkin. The other excuses were suggested by co-workers.
Rikki Coleman, Millie Dupree, Eddie Weese. Rikki Coleman - they discovered she had an abortion as the result of an affair. Millie Dupree - they discovered that her real estate husband has had some shady dealings. Eddie Weese (Guy Torry) - they discovered that he was HIV positive.
As a result of someone breaking into Nicholas Easter's apartment and snooping around.. One of Fitch's people broke into Nicholas Easter's apartment to dig up information on him. However, Nicholas had a hidden security camera that caught the whole thing, and he showed it to the judge. Rikki Coleman's suicide attempt may have been part of the reason, but it was mainly because of what happened at Nicholas Easter's apartment. Stella Hulic (Nora Dunn) was removed from the jury when they discovered her drinking problem and Frank Herrera never talked to the media.
