No Vacancy. Jack Black is originally a member of the band "No Vacancy". This band ends up kicking Jack Black out and, in turn, he takes the job at the school as a teacher. The group of kids he teaches ends up being the members of the "School of Rock".
Joan Cusack. Joan Cusack plays the principal, Rosalie Mullins, who learns to relax a little because of Jack Black and his antics.
The Doors. "The Doors", with Jim Morrison, sang "Touch Me", which is heard on and off through the duration of the movie.

Christina Aguilera. Liza Minelli is Billy's favorite and Puff Daddy is Leonard's favorite. Dewey Finn asks the class who their favorite artists are so that they can talk about their influences and decide what kind of band they want to be. He isn't too happy with the answers they give.
They sleep with the band. Dewey Finn then appoints her to the highest position there is: Band Manager. Summer is happy with that and Dewey Finn later states that he would vote for Summer as President if she were to run later that year.
He's not cool enough. Lawrence doesn't think he's cool enough to be in a rock band because nobody ever talks to him. Dewey assures him that everyone's going to talk to him if he's in a rocking band, so he agrees to do it. Later on, we see Tomeka sticking up for him and everyone treats him nicely, which proves that Dewey was right.

Niņa, Pinta, and Santa Marina. Dewey then corrects him in the tape.
He's the next Jimi Hendrix. Zack's father is very pleased with that and, at the end of the movie, you can see that he starts to accept it.
Katie. She doesn't really say much in the film, and Dewey calls her "Posh Spice" at first.
Dewey Finn. Jack Black plays the very garish Dewey Finn, guitarist for the band, No Vacancy. Jack Black was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Comedy for this role.
Spider. Theo, the lead singer/guitarist, says that Dewey's "... minute guitar solos" are only one of the factors that contributed to the band kicking him out.
Lucas Babin. Lucas Babin plays the rather good looking Spider, who takes over for Dewey.
Horace Green. Ah, Horace Green, where everyone has to pay $15,000 a year to get their little brats educated.

Richard Linklater. Michael Moore is best known for "Bowling for Columbine". Mel Gibson for "The Passion of the Christ" and "Braveheart". And Jerry Bruckheimer is the genius behind "The Pirates of the Carribean: The Curse of the Black Pearl".

No Vacancy. Dewey was replaced by another guitarist named Spider. No Vacancy ended up being more successful without Dewey.
Trumpet. Along with Marco, Michelle and Eleni where also playing trumpet. Katie was playing the cello, Billy was playing the xylophone, and Summer was playing the clarinet.
Gordon, Marco, and Tomika. Tomika eventually became a back-up singer, but Gordon and Marco remained roadies until the end. Frankie and Leonard were on security detail, Billy was the band stylist, and Eleni and Michelle where the "groupies".
Lawrence. Lawrence was given this nickname because he didn't think that he was cool enough to be in the band. Zack was called "Zack Attack", Freddy was called "Spazzy McGee", and Billy was called "Fancy Pants".
Freddy. Freddy was, of course, always the drummer. Summer was switched to band manager after she found out what "groupie" meant. Billy was changed from security detail to band stylist, and Tomika changed from roadie to back-up singer.
