There were no opening or closing ceremonies for the 1900 Olympics in Paris, but in 1924 (also in Paris), the ceremonies were held in the Olympic Stadium of Colombes which had a capacity of 45,000. There were 19 medal sports in 1900 and the same in 1924. The 1900 program included tug of war and Basque Pelota. Only two teams contested in the Basque Pelota. Spain took gold and France took the silver.
