Martin Balsam, who played the doctor in the pilot episode "The Six Million Dollar Man: The Moon and The Desert", was born on November 4, 1919. Sadly, Martin died of a heart attack, while vacationing in Rome, Italy at the age of 76.
Martin E. Brooks portrayed the doctor from 1975 to 1978, and also in the made-for-TV movies "The Return of the Six-Million-Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman", "Bionic Showdown: The Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman", and "Bionic Ever After?".
Alan Oppenheimer portrayed the doctor from 1973 to 1974. Oppenheimer is a voice artist and was the voice for Vanity Smurf and Father Time in the television program "The Smurfs". Oppenheimer was also in "Trapper John, MD", and he portrayed Mayor Alvin Tutweiler
in the television program "Mama's Family".

Barney Miller. In this episode, Steve is informed of the creation of the "Seven Million Dollar Man". Barney Miller, a former race car champion, is chosen after he is horrifically injured in a car accident. Barney wants to be unique, and in order for that to happen, he must get rid of Steve. At the end of the episode, Steve and Barney fight a terrific battle. Of course, Steve is the ultimate winner.
Population: Zero. On January 18, 1974, "Population: Zero" aired. It was the first episode in the series run. In this episode, Steve must find and capture an angry scientist who demands ten million dollars or he will destroy another town.
The Moon and the Desert. On March 7, 1973, "The Moon and the Desert" appeared on television. This is the episode where Steve Austin crashes an experimental aircraft. He is then rebuilt with Bionics. The cost of his Bionics was six million dollars. Also in this 90 minute movie, Steve uses his Bionic powers to free a captured Arab Israeli leader.
Lee Majors. Lee Majors was born on April 23, 1939 in Wyandotte, Missouri. His real name at birth was Harvey Lee Yeary. Lee Majors graduated from Middlesboro High School in 1957, and he graduated from EKU in 1962 with a degree in both History and in Physical Education. Lee starred in the television series "Big Valley" from 1965 to 1969. Lee starred in the movie "Will Penny" in 1968. In 1969, he starred in the short lived series "The Men from Shiloh". Lee then went on to play Steve Austin in the hit series "The Six Million Dollar Man" from 1973 to 1978, and he starred in another hit television series "The Fall Guy" from 1981 to 1986. On July 28, 1973, Lee married long time girlfriend, Farrah Fawcett. In 1988, Lee married Karen Velez, the 1985 Playmate of the Year. Together, Lee and Karen have a daughter named, Nikki Loren, who was born in 1988. In 1994, Lee and Karen divorced. Later that year, he met Faith Noell, who he became engaged to in January 2000.
