Who plays the leading roles in this movie?

Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Zooey Deschanel, who hails from Los Angeles, has also appeared in movies such as "Almost Famous", "Yes Man", "The Happening", and "Elf". Along with folk troubadour Matt Ward, she is also a singer-songwriter in the music act She & Him, whose first two albums have been met with much critical acclaim. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who also hails from the L.A. area, first started out his career as a child, appearing in numerous television programs such as "Roseanne", "Family Ties", and "3rd Rock from the Sun" during the 1990s. His significant roles in films have mostly come after the turn of the century, in such films as "Shadowboxer", "The Lookout", and "Uncertainty".

Near the beginning of the movie, we discover that Tom works in a high-rise office building. What is his line of work?
writing greeting cards. Near this time when we are first introduced to Tom, we are also are introduced to the layout of the office, most specifically the board room where staff members, like Tom, pitch their ideas for the cards, and also where the best submissions will eventually be turned into the cards for the company to sell.

There is a new employee at the company, whose name is Summer. We find out that she has moved from what midwestern state to accept a position at the company?
Michigan. Early on in the movie, in a scene where employees are hanging out in the main office space, the gentleman who is in charge of the company takes the time to introduce Summer to her fellow office members. We learn shortly thereafter, in a conversation she has Tom, that she hails from Michigan and has just moved to her new location just recently.

During one scene of the movie, Tom and Summer are at the counter at a local bar, when a belligerent man comes up to Summer in plain sight of Tom, tries to buy her a drink, and makes assorted small talk that plainly annoys Summer. At the end of the man's conversation with her, he turns and says to her, "I can't believe he's your boyfriend." What is Tom's reaction?
He starts a fight with the man.. Tom doesn't hesitate in the least to confront this agitating individual. The fight occurs just beyond where Summer is sitting at the bar, and she is clearly aware of exactly what happened. Afterward, when they go home, they get into an argument, as she will not defend his actions under any circumstances. It is not long after this that their romantic involvement takes a turn for the worst.

At one point of the movie, we see Tom sitting in a movie theater viewing an old black-and-white film, with Summer sitting with him.
    f. It is false, because we see Tom sitting in a row near the front of theatre, with no one else around him, as he tries hard to concentrate on the old black and white film playing on the screen in front of him. He doesn't seem to be able to pay attention too well, as he is consumed with the thoughts of the one that should be there with him, which is Summer.

Now for a music-related question. What is going on in the movie when we hear the song "Mushaboom" by Canadian indie-pop chanteuse Feist?
a wedding ceremony. It is a rather large, formal outdoor ceremony, where a couple of friends of theirs tie the knot. Tom and Summer are sitting near the front row for this beautiful moment. At the conclusion of the wedding, we are shown a reception, with lots of dancing and talking going on. Feist, also known as Leslie Feist, has released two LPs of great significance: "Let It Die" and "The Reminder". The song "Mushaboom" was the lead single from the "Let It Die" album. Her best known effort was the song "1,2,3,4", which was featured in Ipod Nano ads a few years back, and whose video featured an insanely colorful and addictive dance routine!

As we get well past the climax of the movie, we observe Tom sitting in a certain location, whereupon Summer notices him an walks over to make small talk with him and find out how he's doing. Where is this?
a park bench. It is nice to see that by this point of the movie they are at least able to be friends, and they are able to speak at ease with each other. At first, it appears that Tom has moved on, both physically and emotionally, but he wavers just before she ends the conversation by trying to get her to hold his hand.

What is the very last thing that Tom says to Summer, after he has a conversation where they discuss her recent marriage, among other things?
"Summer, I really do hope that you're happy.". Tom says this with a tone of great sincerity; it doesn't seem forced at all. He clearly wants what is best for her; it is a very unselfish approach on his part. She then walks towards the end of the park, where she will potentially forever be gone from his life. He is just left to his own thoughts.

In the beginning of the last scene, we see Tom walking into a building. What significant task does he need to perform here?
job interview. He is attending a job interview on one of the upper floors of a high-rise building downtown. He is all decked out in his best suit and tie, slacks, and sleek black shoes. After he exits the escalator, and proceeds down the hallway to his left, he will meet a new acquaintance before he is asked to come into the interview room.

As the movie winds down, Tom meets a new woman. In the last line of the movie, we hear her say, "Hello, my name is ___." What is her interesting name?
Autumn. Moments before his interviewer calls him in, he asks her out for coffee, and she is not sure what to say. When he turns to continue toward the room where his interview will be conducted, she calls him back and agrees to his offer. After he offers his name, he asks for hers, and she simply replies, "My name is Autumn." The movie concludes at this point.
