"Gandalf" He is of the Istari, as is Saruman. Can you tell me which of these is also of the Istari?

Radagast the Brown. Beren was in fact a man who loved the Elf Luthien. The Istari were Maiar sent from the west to keep an eye on Sauron. However, it was only really Gandalf who kept to this task.

"Aragorn" He is the heir of...?

Isildur. Isengard was where Saruman lived and Imladris is what men called the answer to question 10. It was fitting that Aragorn should be in the Fellowship because Isildur had been a Ring bearer.

"Gimli" He was amazed to see Frodo's Mithril....?

vest. Gimli was a Dwarf. He was the son of Gloin and agood friend of Legolas. This was unusual because Elves and Dwarfs did not usually get on very well.

"Merry" Where does he meet Quickbeam?

Entmoot. Merry and Pippin both meet Quickbeam at the Entmoot which was a gathering of Ents. The first Ent that Merry and Pippin met was Treebeard. The Ents were shepherds of the trees and they themselves were very tree-like in appearance.

"Boromir" He goes to Imladris to seek the sword that was broken; what was the name of this sword?

Narsil. This was the name of Aragorn's sword before it was reforged.After it was reforged it was known as Anduril. Denethor, Boromir's father, was the steward of Gondor and Boromir was his heir. However, Boromir was killed by Orcs so his younger brother Faramir then became heir.

"Frodo" Who was Frodo's father?

Drogo. Bilbo was in fact Frodo's cousin. He made Frodo his heir much to the dismay of the despicable Sackville-Bagginses. Frodo is, of course, the most important member of the Fellowship as he carries the Ring which he inherited from Bilbo.

"Sam" The name of one of Sam's daughters?

Elanor. Sam's children were Elanor, Frodo Gardner, Rose, Merry, Pippin, Goldilocks,Hamfast,Daisy,Primrose,Bilbo,Ruby,Robin and Tolman. Arwen was the daughter of Elrond and Athalas was a herb also known as Kingsfoil.

"Legolas" His full name is Legolas Green...?

leaf. Legolas was an Elf of Mirkwood. He travelled to Rivendell to seek the advice of Elrond. He was the only representative of the Elves in the Fellowship just as Gimli was the only Dwarf.

"Pippin" What tobacco did he smoke at Isengard?

Longbottom Leaf. Merry and Pippin found two barrels of this tobacco amongst the ruin of Isengard as well as a decent supply of food, so they decided to help themselves. They had travelled to Isengard with the Ents.

Rivendell. Rivendell was the home of Elrond Half-Elven. This is where the Fellowship came together following the Council of Elrond. Rivendell was a very magical place and one of the Elvish rings of power was kept there.
