He is the founder of modern Afghanistan. He reigned from 1747 to 1772 and was nicknamed 'Baba'.

    Ahmad Shah Durani. Shir Ali Khan was king from 1863 to 1866 and from 1868 to 1869. Timur Shah reigned from 1747 to 1793 and Loynab Shirdel was governor general. He died in 1878.

This president claimed the Afghanistan Republic in 1973 and was assassinated in April 1978.
    Sardar Mohamad Daud. Tarakie was leader of the communist party, he succeded to Daud. Dr. Najeebulah was appointed president in 1986, he was beaten to death by the Talibans in 1996. Babrak Karmal was president from 1979 to 1986.

He was King when Afghanistan gained its independance from Great Britain in 1919. His wife was Queen Soraya.
    Amanulah Khan. Omar is the actual leader of the Talibans, not the kind of person I'd like to meet... Hassan Khan was one of the first three Afghans to emigrate to Australia in 1860 and Mr. Abdull Khan is the President of the Afghan Descendants Association.

He ruled Afghanistan twice, from 1803 to 1809 and from 1839 to 1842. He was murdered during the first Anglo-Afghan war.
    Shah Shuja. Akbar was Shah Shuya's Grand Vizier and had him murdered. Dost Mohammed was Akbar's father and was Shah Shuya's main rival. Ranjit Singh was leader of the Punjab in the 1840's.

He may have ruled less than a year but he became famous after winning the Maiwand battle over the British in 1880.
    Sardar Mohamad Ayub Khan. Gobar was Afghanistan's greatest historian, he died in 1978 at 80. Mayvandwal was Prime Minister in the early 1960's and Shah Mahmood rules the country from 1800 to 1803 and from 1814 to 1838.
