This person is an important link between forwards and backs. They play an important role in scrums, lineouts, and a lot of plays. Who is it?

    Scrumhalf. The scrumhalf places the ball into the scrum and usually picks the ball up after their team wins rucks, scrums, and lineouts.

There are some positions where there are usually two people for a position. Example: There are two flankers. Which of these positions is only played by one person?
    Flyhalf. Props wear the numbers 1 and 3. Locks are 4 and 5, and Wings are 11 and 14. Another position with two players for it is the Center. The centers wear numbers 12 and 13.

A fullback has the ball, and they are too far ahead of everyone to pass the ball back. If they kick it, is the ball open for anyone to grab?
    y. If you kick the ball, they are allowed to pick it up, as long as they were behind you when the kick was made.

Which of these is worth two points?
    A conversion. A conversion is the kick after a team scores a try. Tries are worth five points. Penalty kicks are three points, and knock-ons are penalties.

A conversion kick can be made from anywhere as long as it is at least 40 meters back.
    f. The kick must be made anywhere on a line from where the try was scored.

Which of these is illegal?
    dragging players out of the maul. Driving the maul forward is a great way to gain meters.

Who usually throws the ball into the lineout?
    Hooker. The locks are usually the jumpers in lineouts because of their height. The scrumhalf receives the ball from the jumper.

Who makes up the second row of the scrum?
    Locks. The props are in the first row. The eighth man is in the very back. The flankers are in the third row.

In 1823, a man was playing soccer and ran with the ball in his hands. This started rugby. Who was this man?
    William Ellis. Daniel Carter played for New Zealand. Running with the ball wasn't officially allowed until 1841.

High tackles (above the shoulders) are allowed in rugby as long as the person's eyes aren't being covered.
    f. Tackles above the shoulders are illegal and can result in a yellow card, red card, or a penalty kick.
