Sea Pines. Sydney gave it this nickname - she gives everything a nickname.

Who is Callie's roomate?

Sydney. Sydney was one of the "substance abuse" guests - who "says she's addicted to every drug she's ever tried."

Why was Tara at the facility?

She was anorexic. All throughout the book she is referred to as the girl with the bald spot who has to wear a baseball cap to cover it.

What color eyes does Callie's therapist have?

amber. Pg 56: "I check your amber cat eyes for signs of impatience, but you don't seem mad. Just curious"

What is the last weight we hear Tara was at?

99. Page 144: "'That's great', I say, thinking about how happy we all were when Tara weighed in at 99 last week." Tara is the only one of the two anorexic girls (along with Becca) who gets better.

Where did Callie end up when she ran away?

Dunkin Donuts. She ends up there after running out to her old neighborhood. There is a Dairy Queen and a Burger King, but in the phone call to her father, he tells her to go to the Dunkin' Donuts. "The Dunkin' Donuts is warm and bright; two men in coveralls are the only customers."

How does Peggy know that Callie ran away?

She has no coat. Peggy is the waitress at the Dunkin' Donuts. She seems to know her stuff about kids. "She tips her chin up. 'No coat. It's a little cold out there to be going around without a coat.'"

Who is the new girl?

Amanda. "The new girl says her name so quickly I can't tell if it's Amanda or Manda." She finds out it's Amanda, who is at Sea Pines because she carves (another form of cutting yourself.)

How long is Callie in her therapy sessions?

1 hour. In the book it says: "After a while, I hear your dead-cow chair groan. You sigh. "OK," you say. "That's all for today." The clock says we still have fifty minutes left. But you've already capped your pen and closed your notebook." Sydney then wanders to the bathroom for five minutes, then returns to find out that: "Forty-five minutes is a long time." She doesn't speak in therapy for almost half the book - she doesn't talk to anyone at all. Sydney gives her the nickname S.T. - for Silent Treatment.

Does Callie go home in the end?

No. "Then tomorrow, I'm going down to your office first thing in the morning. And tell you everything." She returns to Sea Pines and waits for her dad to fill out insurance forms, then decides to give everyone in her group (Amanda, Becca, Tara, Debbie, Tiffany, and Sydney) a donut from Dunkin' Donuts.
