Special Sub-Topic: King Ottokar's Sceptre

What is the name of the professor to whom Tintin returns the briefcase?

Alembick. He lives at 24 Flyaway Road

And what is the professor's area of interest/expertise?
Sigilography. Sigilography is the study of seals (no, not that kind!). A seal in this context is something with someone's personal emblem stamped onto a medallion, in this case the King's. Sounds fascinating.

The Syldavians nickname their country the Kingdom of the...?
Black Pelican. The name is given because the pelican is the national symbol of Syldavia. The top of the sceptre features a pelican.

Who is the current king of Syldavia?
Muskar XII. Musstler sounds similar to Muskar, but this character is the leader of Borduria.

What must the king do every year on St. Vladimir's day?
Parade the Ottokar's Sceptre to the people. If he can't, he is forced to abdicate.

With whom does Tintin hitch a ride to reach Klow?
Bianca Castafiore. This was Tintin's first of many encounters with the 'Milanese Nightingale'.

Where do Tintin & Snowy stop for shelter against the rain in Klow?
Outside a museum. This was a Natural History Museum.

What is the name of the official court photographer?
Herr Czarlitz. Whether or not this was his real name, one can only speculate. This guy is in league with Alembick and helps him steal the sceptre.

What is the name of the neighbouring country of Syldavia, which is attempting to seize power?
Borduria. These charming fellows would return in 'The Calculus Affair'

What helps Tintin realise how the sceptre was stolen?
He sees some toys in a shop window. Tintin spies a toy cannon and soldiers.

Tintin and the Thompsons follow the thieves in pursuit of the sceptre. How do they do this?
By car. They borrow the King's car, leaving him standing around in the middle of nowhere!

What curse does the guy with the sceptre use?
Szplug. 'Krutziturken' was used by Doctor Muller in 'The Black Island' and 'Land of Black Gold'

Why does Tintin become dizzy and disorientated?
He hasn't eaten for a long time. He steals some bread from a Bordurian frontier post shortly afterwards.

Does Tintin finally return the sceptre to the king?
    n. The sceptre falls out of Tintin's pocket on the way to the chamber. Snowy picks the sceptre up and returns it.

Tintin is bestowed with the Syldavian honour of 'Knight of the Order of the...'?
Golden Pelican. Tintin receives the honour for 'great services' rendered to Syldavia.
