Special Sub-Topic: Neo vs Smith, the Final Fight

Where does the fight take place?

In the Matrix. Neo leaves Zion and goes to Machine city where he is plugged into the Matrix, which is where the battle takes place. Note that this is the only fight inside the Matrix in this movie.

Before the fight, the Machine asks Neo, "And if you fail?". What is the reply?
"I won't.". Neo has fought Smith twins before and was forced to flee at the end because there were too many of them. This time, the case is worse, yet Neo is convinced that he won't fail. This is a preliminary sign to the viewers that there should be more to the fight.

Why is Smith so powerful in this very fight?
Because the Smith fighting Neo is actually Oracle. We've seen before that Smith is no match for Neo. But here, Smith is beating Neo. So it can't be the original Smith. At the end, we see Oracle lying where the Smith was destroyed, confirming it was Smith/Oracle. That's why he was so powerful.

What happens to Smith's glasses during the fight?
He wears them at first, but they are eventually knocked off.. This is the first time Smith's glasses have been knocked off, so Neo's punch is stronger than ever. The whole fight is in a whole new level. Right after this punch, another hit knocks Smith out of the building, also showing Neo's strength.

When Neo is asked by Smith the reason he continues fighting, what does he say?
"Because I choose to.". Throughout the series, it has been implied that there is no such thing as "choice". This dialogue says otherwise, and so, is deep. Note that Neo never believed in the notion that there is no such thing as "choice", but Smith always did. So Smith tries to attack Neo almost instantaneously on hearing this.

What, according to Smith, is he supposed to say in the End?
"Everything that has a beginning has an end, Neo.". Why does Smith call him Neo (for the first time)? NEO is analogous to ONE, so Smith never calling him Neo signifies that he never took him as the One, until now. It is a choice he doesn't understand. Oracle said, in "Reloaded", that we can never see past the choices we don't understand. Smith made a choice he doesn't understand so he couldn't see any further. He thought that there was nothing further, and that it was the End.

Who says, "It is inevitable", in this fight?
Neo. This is what Smith always used to say. Now Neo says it. He wants to aggravate Smith and make him change Neo to Smith. This strategy works as Smith ends up assimilating Neo.

Why does Smith say he should thank Neo?
Because he taught him the purpose of all life. According to him, the purpose of all life is to end. Smith wants to end all life, inside and outside the Matrix. Neo stands up instantly after hearing this, showing that he disagrees.

Neo wants peace from the Machines in exchange for destroying Smith. What is the reason Neo gives the Machines to get them to agree to his proposal?
Because the program, Smith has gone out of the control of the Machines. This shows that everything from the very beginning of the movie relies on this one fight, the fate of both the Matrix and Zion. All other answers are correct reasons why the Machines should agree, but aren't the words which Neo actually told the Machines (which is what the question asks).

What does Neo want from the fight?
To be assimilated (changed into Smith). That is his plan all along. He will keep fighting until Smith does this so that the Machines can use him to destroy Smith. That is why he says that he won't fail.
