2. When people think of camels, they associate them with the Egyptian deserts but they are much more widespread. Which country doesn't have wild camels living in it?

Answer: Russia

Australia's population of camels escaped from captivity and are living in the outback. In Tibet, Bactrian camels are used to shift cargo over the steep peaks.
3. There is a Syrian Camel living in Arabia that has been discovered but the UN won't release any information about it.

Answer: False

The Syrian camel became extinct in the Pleistocene era and was 4m tall. That's twice the size of a normal Arabian camel today.

The heels, ribs, blood, liver, milk, hump and flesh of a camel can be eaten. Apparently, camel flesh tastes like hard beef and sometimes camel milk has a greenish tinge to it.
5. What is stored in a camel's hump?

Answer: Fat

A popular misconception is that a camel's hump contains water. It actually stores fat to convert into energy. The llama family do not have humps.
6. A group of lions is a pride and a group of wolves is a pack. Which of these isn't a term for a group of camels?

Answer: They are very hairy

10. A common name for an Arabian camel is the dromedary camel, but some people think that it should be classified as the Arabian camel. Why?

Answer: False

Camels are loving and patient and will kneel to allow human riders to board. However, they can be angered by ignorant humans and will stamp and run around to show their discontent.
13. A hybrid between a llama and a camel is called a lamel.

Answer: No

14. Camels make great pets.

Answer: False

Camels aren't great pets. They require lots of room and need a lot of food and water. They also must have a salt lick to supplement their salty diet. If you feel ready to take care of a camel, buy some alpacas! They're softer and much more tame.
