Beras is uncooked rice, nasi is cooked, and pulut is glutinous rice used mainly to create delicious sweets. Not mentioned, padi is the unhusked grain of rice (hence the "paddy fields").

Answer: Malay and Chinese

When hordes of men from China came to Malaysia to work in the tin mines and rubber plantations, they married local Malay women who utilised Chinese ingredients but used traditional Malay techniques and flavouring to create such great dishes as pork satay.

Answer: Soya Sauce

Ketjap comes in many forms, among them Ketjap Manis (sweet)and Ketjap Assam(sour) are the most popular.

Answer: All of these

It means Ten Thousand in Malay. Laksa is thick round rice noodles in a spicy soup or gravy. The soup is made with fish [usually Mackerel], Belacan (Dried Shrimp Paste) and lots of aromatic herbs and spices. There are several different styles of laksa, both ethnic and geographic or regional styles.

Answer: Lemon Grass

Lemon Grass is also used extensively in all other SE Asian countries: Thailand, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, etc...

Use the right hand only, the left hand is reserved for a different use. For everyday meals it is acceptable to use fork and spoon. The Chinese use chopsticks. You never see a knife on a dining table: "We prefer to do our butchering in the kitchen!"
