In what year were the Jews expelled from England?

    1290. Under Edward I Longshanks, the ruler known for his great height.

Why did the King claim he expelled the Jews from England?
    A Jew was accused of killing a boy.. Although the other reasons were probably correct, the murder of the boy was the reason they were given. Some people thought that if one Jew could kill a little boy, the rest could too and promptly kicked them out.

In the 1650s, Jews from ____ who were in the Netherlands asked to be let into England.
    Spain. Apparently, the Spanish weren't too fond of Jews and they thought that England would be a good place to live.

Who let the Jews come back and in what years?
    Cromwell, 1654-1655. That's one of the few good things that happened during his reign.

Why were the Jews let back into England?
    The person thought the Jews had to be readmitted to 'Israel' for the 2nd Coming.. Cromwell truly believed that letting the Jews in was a necessary condition for the Second Coming. Unfortunately, he wouldn't live long enough to see it because he died in 1658.
