Special Sub-Topic: "World of Warcraft" - Dustwallow Marsh
Theramore Isle connects to which other Alliance city by boat?
Menethil Harbor. Theramore Isle, found on a peninsula on the eastern coast of Dustwallow Marsh (and Kalimdor for that matter) is the Alliance city in the zone as well as the largest city in the area. Well known for being the home city of Jaina Proudmoore, the city houses numerous traders and trainers as well as quests for Alliance players in the Marsh.
Menethil Harbor is found in Wetlands on the western coast of the Eastern Kingdoms, and while it's quite the level drop from Dustwallow Marsh to the Wetlands, it gives good access for players to reach the city of Iron Forge in Dun Morogh.
Brackenwall Village is a Horde town.
T. If you enter the zone from the west, you can follow the trail north across the western end of Dustwallow Marsh to inevitably arrive at Brackenwall Village, the Horde-based outpost on the road to Theramore Isle. Although the town is a nice flightpath location for players, its only other function in the area is to allow for Horde-centric quests in the northern half of the zone. The village contains a fair amount of traders and ogres.
Overlord Mok'Morokk, found in the center of town, leads the Stonemaul clan in the area. If you so choose, you can follow a quest chain leading to a duel against this character (the quest is called 'Challenge Overlord Mok'Morok'). The quests in this town are for players between level 35 and 45 for the most part.
Found at the border to the west, what is the name of the destroyed building at the entrance to Dustwallow Marsh?
Shady Rest Inn. Coming in from the west, players will find this, the first structure of Dustwallow Marsh, on the southern side of the road, razed and destroyed. Here players can find quests, regardless of faction, that pertain to why this once-quiet location was destroyed by Grimtotem Tauren Clan. Inside the wreckage and ruins, players can pick up evidence left behind by the perpetrators including a guard badge, hoofprints, and a black shield. Depending on whether you're Alliance or Horde, they'll either bring you to Theramore Isle or Brackenwall Village.
Which of these can be found crashed in the Quagmire?
A zeppelin. Departing from Theramore Isle, Beezil the goblin had been flying his zeppelin back to Gadgetzan before, all of a sudden, he crashed into the Quagmire. His body was never recovered and he is suspected to have fled. Quest chains found in Gadgetzan (in Tanaris) and Mirage Raceway (in Thousand Needles) will eventually lead to a connection here. The NPC Moxie Steelgrille will be standing by to offer assistance near the crash site though anyone searching for Seaforium Boosters for whatever reason can find them amongst the remains of the fallen aircraft.
What is the name of the neutral village/outpost found in the southern end of Dustwallow Marsh?
Mudsprocket. Run and operated by a group of goblins, this neutral area is home to most of the quests necessary to complete in the southern end of Dustwallow Marsh, allowing players to have a reason to explore this otherwise foreboding region. This location is the third in the zone to contain a flightpath. The quests here are mostly for players under level 40. The 'Wanted' quest here, for example, looks for players at precisely that level to kill Goreclaw the Ravenous, a raptor found near Bloodfen Cave.
All of the quests here will allow players to gain faction with the southern goblin city, Gadgetzan, in Tanaris.
A number of Mage quests can be found from which NPC found in her farm hut in Dustwallow Marsh?
Tabetha. Tabetha's Hut is in a centralized location in Dustwallow Marsh; a path to her house can be found between Shady Rest Inn and Mudsprocket. Most players coming here will be on different Mage quests though a number of different quest chains can begin, continue, or end with Tabetha. Alliance players can find quests leading to Tabetha's Farm from Theramore Isle, but Horde players will inevitably need to discover the differnt quest chains through NPCs in their major cities outside the borders of Dustwallow. The farm is north of Stonemaul Ruins, once the stronghold of Stonemaul Ogres.
Which of these is a camp for Grimtotem Tauren?
Direhorn Post. Similar to Direhorn Post, which is found in the northern end of The Quagmire but south of the path through to Theramore Island, Grimtotem Tauren also stake out the area in the north known as Blackhoof Village. Here, players can follow their Shady Rest Inn questlines to get to the bottom of who and what destroyed the quaint rest stop near the border. In all fairness, perhaps the only notable person of importance in Direhorn Post is Apothecary Cylla, known for dropping a quest-starting letter which takes Alliance players to Tabetha's Farm and Horde players to Brackenwall Village.
Which of these monsters can be found in the waters around Alcaz Island?
Hydras. Possibly one of the most dangerous locations in Dustwallow Marsh, Alcaz Island has some of the highest leveled monsters in the zone outside instances. Often regarded as a mini-dungeon due to its difficulty, this area is found off the northeastern coast of the Marsh in the Great Sea. Players simply need to swim over to its cliffside shores. There's a snag though; the waters are usually patrolled by high-level, elite Strashaz Hydras. On the island itself, numerous elite Naga can be fought in the 50s and 60s level range. It's not as easy as it seems. Alcaz was once a famous prison (much like Alcatraz) and it contains a system of underground passageways. It used to be under human and Alliance control before the Naga took over.
Dustwallow Marsh only connects to one other zone physically. What is it?
The Barrens & Barrens. Players running through The Barrens will find themselves at a fork if they head south down the Gold Road before they hit Thousand Needles and the two Razorfen instances. Heading straight takes players down to these, but heading left (east) will inevitably take players to Dustwallow Marsh and Shady Rest Inn at the entrance. This is the only physical path in and out of the zone, otherwise players can reach it via flightpath, Hearthstone, or by boat from Theramore Isle. Although Dustwallow Marsh also physically borders Thousand Needles, there is no way to directly access it from the boglands by crossing the mountains around it.
Onyxia's Lair is found in which portion of Dustwallow Marsh?
The Wyrmbog. Found smack-dab in the middle of the Wyrmbog, this is the only instanced dungeon in the entirety of Dustwallow Marsh. Typically for players from level 60 to 70, this raid instance is one of the more difficult ones found in Kalimdor, and is often regarded as a 40-man dungeon. It is one of only two raid dungeons released with the game at the time of launch.
The final boss of this instance, Onyxia, is a Black Dragonflight Wyvern, and quite the powerful one at that. Almost all of the enemies found in this dungeon are dragons and wyverns. There's no guesswork- it's just a matter of forging through with strength.
