1 A personal favorite, in this game contestants are shown five paper bags with prices, and six grocery items. They have to pick five and match it up with their correct price. What game is this?
Answer: It's In The Bag

The contestant has to correctly match up the five products and prices, and leave the sixth grocery item out, as it does not match up to the five prices. The game is set up so only one product matches up with one price; there is only one winning combination. When the contestant thinks they have matched up correctly, the host reveals the first item. If it was correctly matched, the contestant wins $1,000. The contestant can decide to walk with the money, or keep going. After each correct pairing, the winnings total doubles ($2,000, $4,000 up to $16,000 for all five). If one is wrong, the player loses everything.

Answer: any amount

In the "Card Game", the prize is usually a car. Aces are wild and can be made into anything the contestant wants. Just so long as they don't go over. They can get within a dollar amount previously drawn at the beginning of the game. A dollar amount $2500 is a sure bet. Face cards are $1000 and the other cards are of their value in $100 increments. For example, if the contestant pulls a 5 of diamonds, they add $500 to the total on the bid they are going for.

31 When Drew Carey was host, a former host of "The Price is Right" appeared in the Showcase round to promote his book "Priceless Memories". Which host was this?
Answer: Bob Barker

In April 2009, Bob made his first return to "The Price is Right" where he promoted his book "Priceless Memories" which was the story of his life. His appearance was near the end of the show, during the Showcases; in fact, both showcases were centered around his book. In the first showcase there was a computer (representing how they can get a book), a trip to New York (in case they didn't want to wait for the book to come by mail as it would if it was brought on a computer), and a car (a way to go to a bookstore to get as many books as possible). In the second showcase, it was about how they might read Bob's book. You could read a book on a plane ride (which was a trip to Cabo San Lucas) or in a place that is very special to them (which was a private yacht).
Not only were the showcases based on "Priceless Memories", but Bob announced that everybody in the audience would receive a copy of his book!

38 What was the purpose of the One Bid round?
Answer: It determined who will play a pricing game.

After contestants are called to "come on down", an item was shown and the four contestants are asked to bid on it, and the one who bid closest to the actual retail price without going over won the item and came on stage to play a pricing game.
When "The Price is Right" debuted, the readout displays were all brown and an asterisk was shown who won the item up for bid. In 1975, the displays were changed with each display getting its own color. From left to right, the colors were red, green, yellow, and blue. The asterisk was no longer shown on the winner's display. In 1981, the green and blue displays switched places, meaning the order was now red, blue, yellow, and green.
