At this point in time, anyone with one win has more than I do. I've just not been lucky, that's all.

Flopsy, I couldn't get to grips with the game when I first started playing. I got one win by a fluke (or rather, another player's bad spelling) and then gave it up again. I've been playing regularly now for over a year, and the game, daft though it is, does 'hook' you. I fully intended to give up once I'd got the second badge, but somehow I didn't. There always seems to be another target which keeps me trying.

I just don't like it. Similarly, I don't like the Word game - I'm actually pretty good at that and would, did, give most people a run for their money but it bores me. So I play something else. Anything else, lol. It's not a big deal, life's too short to play absolutely everything.

I got one yesterday - I just happened to click on the game, and the first three letters were showing so I typed the first word that popped into my head, then nearly fell off the chair when it came up correct!!!!!! I'm no good at all at the intuitive thing some people have, I just guess and hope.
There are certain sets of letters that I put the same word every time they come up in the hope that eventually it will be the one, and that has paid off precisely once, when indaba came out. Then I have won twice with the same word twice - I forget which two words, but they must come up fairly often as I only have a few wins, and both of them came up twice.

I play daily, but NEVER (or almost never) enter a guess after the red guesses show up. I just don't like checking each word before I pick something.

Each word I've gotten, was a quick choice, ages ago, and that doesn't seem to be working any more...But that could be because I'm now more interested. Ya' think?

Flaunt just came up and I missed it.
I was in before and after it. I was off writing emails to and fro to a vendor who sends me tracking numbers. No item name or order number, just the tracker. I've been trying to explain that just the number without any tie to a purchase I've made means I have to spend time making the connection and that time used even if the item doesn't get lost. On the other coinside, there's an item doesn't show and I have half a dozen tracking numbers and don't know if one of them is for the missing. See, these vendors sell under one name, bill as another and ship as yet a third name.
So, I missed flaunt.
Well, at least I know it's in the rotation and I may yet get it some other day.

Does anyone else see lots of humorous possibilities in the fact that there is a computer in that room's background? Does The Being That Is have a URL? Just what kind of channeling is going on back there? How much does Sermons OnLine charge these days? Is it connected to the Choir loft so they can play Monasteries and Angels Role Playing Games? No printer in sight! There's the miracle for ya, the printer cartridge that never runs out. Think it's a hot line direct to Rome? How many Communications satellites have the churches of the world launched anyway? Is the monitor a relic of the Blessed Edison? No, no possibilities there. Forget I distracted you. Carry on.

Mehaul, there are websites that provide interesting Christian information. For example, you can find the full text of the Bible on line in various languages. Or you could consult short biographies of more than 4,000 Catholic Saints.

I looked at the photo in the link that mehaul posted and I don't see a computer (not that it would phase me if there were one, a sacristy is a place in the church used by humans, who also use computers). The mounted image appears to be one of Jesus and the apostles.

It appeared to be a flat screen monitor to me and under blow up to 400% it still might be a wall mounted one with a box of data discs in front of it. Or it might be an awfully low mounted painting of what appears to be Jesus on an donkey entering Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. The vestments laid out would back that celebration color. Having a web image of some great Master's depiction of the scene might be fitting to have. Maybe it isn't a computer monitor but a large eframe?

When I expand that image to be full screen, it seems to me to be a group photo on the wall, with everyone's names underneath - looks just like the school photos we churn out every year, or a photo from some conference. And the box in front of it looks like a CD pack - perhaps for playing piped music during services when there is no organist around?

On the wall there are two group photographs, probably blu-tacked to the wall but certainly not straight! I hate that, it drives me nuts! How hard is it to do straight? Aaaargh! Sorry. Anyway, two group shots taken in front of the same building... probably a church outing of some sort in two different years.

I think the black "stacking container" in front of the images is a holder for tape cassettes, rather than CDs. I think there are some other cassettes piled up behind the stack, against the wall. And to the right it's possible to see the end of a cardboard tube, the sort that contains posters or is used for mailing calendars, etc.

Have Photoshop, will examine images... and there's not a computer or monitor or eframe in sight.

Perhaps I was in error in thinking it was a computer. That situation had humorous ovetones to it which I detailed and hoped others could build on. I meant no disrespect by anything posted.

At even higher resolution it does seem to be two group photos the right one slightly overlapping the left. And strung below on each by two hooks are maybe date, place and people in the photos?

On the credens (credenza?) I think the orange and green of the chasuble are colors worn on Palm Sunday Masses. There seem to be papers which should be there which would have any novenas or indulgences to be mentioned in the Mass of the day and any other special notes or prayers which would have been carried in or placed there by a deacon(ess). So technologies are having an impact in there. My last visit into a sacristy as an altarboy would have been in 1967 serving mass at a family funeral.

This past hour's word was shoofly. The definitions given for the word were:

I didn't know the rocker definition, but certainly was aware of it being the slang term for an internal affairs policeman.

My Webster's adds to 1. the rocker, 2. any of several plants held to repel flies.

Anyone who hasn't yet tasted shoo-fly pie is still waiting for that 'have I died and gone to heaven' feeling.

Looking at a recipe online, it looks something like Quebecois sugar pie.

The secret is now out folks. The way to win at this game is to guess a word that you can have fun with. Did I mention this is my second win with gloat? Well, it is! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha I knew something awoke me early. It must have been the gasp by all who saw that win heard round the world. What win? Why 'gloat' of course! Well, I've got to save some gloat for later, ta ta, and thanks for the heads up Rossian.
