  • The game of the week was between #14 Notre Dame and #17 Michigan and now the whole country knows the name Jeremy Gallon, who had a Junior Hemmingway performance from two years ago against the Fighting Irish with 8 catches for 184 yards including 3 touchdowns from Devin Gardner, who had 376 all-purpose yards and 5 touchdowns, and 14 more yards on 1 rush to take down Notre Dame 41-30 in what might be the last visit by the Irish to the Big House for a while. #11 Georgia bounced back from their loss to #4 Clemson by beating #6 South Carolina 41-30, led by Aaron Murray’s 4 touchdowns. Miami (FL) stymied #12 Florida’s offense and got a big win 21-16 mostly by winning the turnover battle 5 to 1. Lane Kiffin’s seat has never been hotter at #25 University of Southern California following their abysmal offensive performance in a 10-7 loss to Washington State. BYU embarrassed #15 Texas rushing for an incredible 550 yards on their way to a 40-21. #19 Northwestern put a hurting on Syracuse 48-27. The Fighting Illini of Illinois made a statement against Cincinnati crushing the Bearcats 45-17 after coming into the game as 10 point underdogs. Navy went into Indiana as 12 point underdogs and pulled off a 41-35 win. #2 Oregon wasn’t fazed by the cross country trip to Virginia and smothered the Cavaliers 59-10. #3 Ohio State didn’t skip a beat when starting quarterback Braxton Miller left the game with an injury as Kenny Guiton stepped in and led the Buckeyes to an easy 42-7 win over San Diego State. #16 Oklahoma slogged to a 16-7 win over West Virginia. Michigan State handled South Florida 21-7. New Mexico came back against the University of Texas at El Paso and won the game in overtime 42-35. Ball State beat Army 40-14, Arizona made short work of the University of Nevada Las Vegas 58-13, and Kentucky bounced back from last week’s loss with a 41-7 win over Miami (OH), as did Oregon State who beat Hawaii 33-14.

  • The stunning loss by USC prevented gtho from getting the trifecta of earning bonus points in all three categories but he did earn three bonus points for two underdog wins, Navy & Illinois, and the solo pick of BYU. Themonarch & BxBarracuda also earned the underdog points for Navy & Illinois, while dg_dave earned a bonus point for Illinois, and srini a bonus point for Navy.

  • Gtho used this week’s HoF, of 12 correct, and his bonus points to catapult into the season lead and Ozzz's spoon, of 5 correct, leaves him looking up at the rest of the tippers.

  • The underdog winners Miami (Fla.), Illinois, Navy, New Mexico, Brigham Young University & Washington State.

  • Due to the TCU at Texas Tech game being moved up to before the deadline and the cancellation of the Fresno State at Colorado game due to massive flooding the perfect pick bonus points were adjusted for this week. For tippers who got their tips in before the start of the TCU v Texas game the bonus point was earned for 12/15 or better and for the the tippers who missed the kickoff of the moved up game 11/14 was the mark to earn the bonus point since any picks they made for that first game couldn't count.

  • In a game that lived up to the major hype it received #1 Alabama avenged their last year loss to Johnny “Football” Manziel and #6 Texas A&M 49-42. After going down 14-0 Alabama ran off 35 straight points and held off the Aggies comeback with a touchdown with 2:28 to go, which gave the cushion that allowed for one more TD drive for Manziel before the game ended. Even in losing the myth of “Johnny Football” increased with highlight reel plays and over 550 all-purpose yards, 279 of those yards were on passes to Mike Evans, 3 of Manziel’s 5 passing TDs were hauled in by Malcome Kennedy, and on the other side A.J. McCarron had 4 TDs, over 300 yards passing, balanced by T.J. Yeldons 149 rushing yards. #2 Oregon got the job done against Tennessee 59-14. #4 Ohio State added to California’s woes 52-34. #7 Louisville took the instate battle versus Kentucky 27-13. #13 South Carolina beat Vanderbilt 35-25. #16 UCLA scored the last 38 points to defeat #23 Nebraska 41-21 leaving the fans with the feeling they have had enough of Head Coach Bo Pellini’s direction he has taken the team. #19 Washington continued their winning ways over Illinois 34-24. In one of the weirdest endings to a game Arizona State was given a gift to defeat #20 Wisconsin 32-30, when what was supposed to be a play to set up a last second spike to stop the clock to then be followed by a field goal to win the game turned into the last play of the game due to some confusion and poor refereeing. #21 Notre Dame narrowly got by Purdue 31-24. Texas Tech upset #24 TCU on Thursday night 20-10. #25 Ole Miss put Mack Brown on the very hot seat beating Texas 44-23. While neither team is going far this year Iowa can claim state superiority with a 27-21 win over Iowa State. Auburn scored with 10 seconds left to top Mississippi State 24-20 in their first SEC game of the season. Oregon State edged Utah in OT 51-48. Maryland got the victory Connecticut 32-21.

  • Perfect pick bonus points were earned by Sypher, for 13/15, Howie, for 12/15, and dg_dave for 11/14.

  • Sypher hit big with 13/15 for the HoF and ozzz2002 has started to corner the market on spoons with a 7/15. Our new season leader is dg_dave, 1 point ahead of gtho and Howie.

  • The underdog winners Texas Tech, UCLA, Ole Miss and Oregon State.

  • #22 Notre Dame won the defensive battle against Michigan State 17-13, as did Kansas also, barely beating Louisiana Tech. 13-10. In Tiger (Mike) on Tiger (Aubie) action #6 LSU controlled the game against Auburn and with some help from a bad call on a late onside kick held off any chance of a rally 35-21. #19 Florida lost starting quarterback Jeff Driskell but beat Tennessee by 2 touchdowns 31-17. Rutgers staged a huge 21 point comeback led by a ferocious defense and some big special team plays to top Arkansas 28-24. #5 Stanford got the job done against #23 Arizona State 42-28. Utah won the instate rivalry against the fellow top Mormon college football program BYU 20-13. 113 points were racked up during Pittsburgh’s win over Duke 58-55. Texas got a much needed win over Kansas State 31-21. Maryland embarrassed West Virginia 37-0. In a former big Conference USA battle Houston, which is now in the newly formed automatic BCS bid American Athletic Conference, which is the new incarnation of the Big East, topped Rice 31-26. #24 Wisconsin cruised against Purdue 41-10, setting up a major Big 10 match up at the Horseshoe this coming week. In ACC action Georgia Tech took care of North Carolina 28-20. Syracuse got a win over Tulane 52-17. Missouri continued Indiana's football woes 45-28 and Wake Forest got a win at West Point against Army 25-11.

  • Perfect pick bonus points went to Dizart, George95 and ozzz2002, and that last name is not a misprint.

  • George95, who moves into a tie for the season lead, and Dizart share the HoF with 14 correct while the spoon falls to wwe84 with 7.

  • The underdog winners were Houston and Utah.

  • #1 Alabama overwhelmed #21 Ole Miss and shut down their offense for a 25-0 win. #2 Oregon outmatched California 55-16. #4 Ohio State held off a tough #23 Wisconsin team 31-24. #5 Stanford brought Washington State back down to earth by taking them down 55-17. #9 Georgia and #6 LSU played the game of the weekend as they went toe to toe, TD for TD and the last team to score was the Bulldogs to take a hard fought 44-41 win. #10 Texas A&M was never in much danger on the road Arkansas getting the 45-33 win. #8 Florida State got a bit of a test from Boston College but won by 2 TDs 48-34. #11 Oklahoma State was shocked by West Virginia, who rebounded from their embarrassing loss last week, losing 30-21 but it never seemed like they were in the game. #14 Oklahoma went into #22 Notre Dame's house and with 2 early interceptions, 1 for a TD, controlled the game 35-21. #15 Miami (FL) had a walk though against South Florida winning easily 49-21. #16 Washington hosted fellow PAC-12 unbeaten Arizona and continued to impress 31-13. #20 Florida continued Kentucky's woes this season with a 24-7 victory. Navy got the first score against Western Kentucky but that was as the Hilltoppers kept going strong with a 17-9 win. USC had major fallout after its crushing loss to Arizona State 62-41 as Coach Lane Kiffin was fired soon after the team's plane touched back down in Los Angeles. East Carolina did it again, getting a win over a major conference team by taking down North Carolina 55-31. Illinois didn't have any trouble with Miami (OH) as they cruised to a 50-14 win.

  • Gillyharold and BxBarracuda pulled off the trifecta, each earning a perfect pick, solo and underdog bonus points. Bx for 14 correct and picking East Carolina solo as and over 10 point underdog, while gillyharold pulled off the feat with 13 correct and picking West Virginia as a solo and over 10 point underdog. Wwe84 also got the solo and underdog points for the West Virginia upset while perfect pick bonus points for 13 correct also went to dg_dave, George, Howie, Dizart and illiniman. We set a new record for group bonus points in 1 week with 13.

  • Bx picked up the HoF with 14 correct and ozzz2002 took the spoon with 5 this week.

  • The underdog winners were Western Kentucky, East Carolina, West Virginia.

  • Tajh Boyd and #3 Clemson had a ball visiting Syracuse in the Carrier Dome and leaving with a 49-14 win. #15 Washington got within a field goal of #5 Stanford 3 times in the 2nd half but ran out of time and the Cardinals were the ones to stay perfect with a 31-28 victory. #6 Georgia got all they could handle at Tennessee as the Bulldogs needed a 1:49 second drive that culminated in a 3rd and goal touchdown with 5 seconds left to force overtime against the Volunteers and then an unfortunate break for Tennessee when their running back lost control of the ball just before breaking the plane of the goal line, which resulted in a turnover rather than a touchdown, allowing Georgia to run 3 plays and kick the game winning field goal for 34-31 win. #10 LSU struggled early with Mississippi State but scored 4 4th quarter touchdowns to close out the game 59-26. TCU came back from a 13-0 halftime deficit against #11 Oklahoma but could only get within a field goal at the end of the game losing 20-17. Georgia Tech's option running attack put them ahead of #14 Miami (FL) 17-7 but Miami's defensive adjustments slowed down the Yellow Jackets and a late defensive TD gave the Hurricanes a 45-30 victory. West Virginia couldn't make it 2 upsets of top 25 times in a row as #17 Baylor racked up almost 400 passing yards and over 450 rushing yards on their way to a 66-21 lead after 3 quarters and a 73- 42 trouncing of the Mountaineers. Arkansas struck first against #18 Florida but it was the Gators day 30-10. Kansas State almost made it 2 losses in a row for #21 Oklahoma State, but the Cowboys got 10 4th quarter points to top the Wildcats 33-29. #22 Arizona State played a back and forth game with Notre Dame in Arlington, TX and with 2 late interceptions, 1 for a TD, the Fighting Irish came out on top 37-34. #24 Ole Miss made it back to back losses in the same state as Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall ran all over them in the 1st half, while the Tiger defense scored a TD on an interception, got 6 sacks and kept Rebel quarterback Bo Wallace on the move and off balance most of the game closing out the 30-22 Auburn win with back to back sacks of Wallace. Cincinnati went behind South Florida early 26-6 and 2 4th quarter TDs weren't enough to stop the Bulls from getting their first win of the year 26-20. Rice didn't score in the 2nd half which let Tulsa overcome a 14 point deficit, but the Owls TD in overtime topped the Golden Hurricane's field goal 30-27. Michigan State got its Big 10 schedule going well against Iowa, taking down the Hawkeyes 26-14. Illinois found out that Nebraska will be fine without quarterback Taylor Martinez, and maybe better off, as the Corn Huskers controlled the game winning 39-19. The Air Force game at Navy was almost cancelled due to the Government funding shutdown, but non-Government funds were used by the teams to make the game happen and allow the Midshipmen to beat the Falcons 28-10.

  • Gillyharold and wwe found a way to earn solo and underdog points for the 2nd week in a row for their picks of South Florida this week. Themonarch earned a perfect pick bonus point for 15/16, Bx, gtho and Howie got 1 for 14/16 and Sypher earned 1 for 13/16. George95 and N-Bomb had 13 correct, but they only picked 1 underdog each so were unavailable for a perfect pick bonus point.

  • Themonarch took the HoF with 15/16, only missing the South Florida upset of Cincinnati, while paper_aero and gillyharold, who still improved his position on the ladder slightly with bonus points, took their 2nd spoons with 10/15. Our new leader is Howie, making him the 5th leader, 4th solo leader, out of the 6 weeks of the competition.

  • The underdog winners were Rice, South Florida, Auburn and Notre Dame.

Tennessee just missed a huge upset a couple of weeks ago against Georgia but got the job done against #11 South Carolina with a late field goal 23-21. #12 Baylor ran up the score on Iowa State 71-7. #14 Missouri lost their star quarterback last week but didn't miss a beat topping #22 Florida 36-17. #16 Texas Tech stayed perfect against West Virginia 37-27. #21 Oklahoma State held the TCU offense at bay and got a 24-10 victory. Michigan State showed how good their defense is by shutting out Purdue 14-0. East Carolina kept Southern Miss winless 55-14. Cincinnati got an easy win over Connecticut 41-16. Wake Forest stepped up their game and upset Maryland 34-10. Notre Dame wasn't impressive agaisnt USC but won 14-10 as neither team scored in the 2nd half. If someone had 2 underdogs, aren't they eligible for bonus points?

Dizart only had one underdog picked (Indiana), therefore is ineligible, but all others should be.
