Not sure where to put this but I found this quiz
http://www.funtrivia.com/quizdetails.cfm?id=151409

Here, on this website
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/quiz/stephen-king-inspired-movies-1030699/

I know we aren't supposed to put other websites on this forum but I'm not sure where else to let you guys know that it appears elsewhere smile

It could have gone in the Feedback area of the QL site...the admins would still have seen it.

This is very strange, because it is a quiz of skunkee's and someone named "sandi" is claiming it is hers... How horrible for skunkee.

Is Sandi possibly not aware that quizzes belong to the FT site? shocked

Even if she were not aware, to claim the quiz as her own when she just copied it to another website from FT is dishonest.

I've seen these a number of times on other web sites - they either use the whole quiz or pick a heap of questions out of it.

They come up if you google a question to research it.

Ideally, we prefer to deal with matters like this privately rather than publicly.

If you come across FT material being used, possibly without permission, on another site, you can send a private message to any FT editor or administrator and we will make sure that Terry is aware of it. It's possible that material is sometimes used with permission; however, where another person is claiming credit for skunkee's quiz, it seems unlikely in this case. Thank you very much for bringing it to our attention.

Where and what is "QL site"?
And the feedback section for it?

QL is an abbreviation for Quizzyland. It's the quiz and game section of the site (as opposed to the forums).

At the bottom of the page there is a "Help/Contact Us" link. You can use this to send a direct message to the administrative team.

Thank you. I'd never seen anyone use QL before. Nor had I ever bothered to scroll all the way down to the bottom for the Contact us link. I did know there was one at the top.

I'm not sure the term Quizzyland is in common use anymore, though some of our long-term members will remember it. The main site page, if I recall correctly, used to display a logo which said Quizzyland. I don't think it has been around for some time, however.

I am guilty of that long-term member scenario, and I still do the "QL" for that side. Where have the last 11½ years gone?

To give you an idea, MiraJane, this is what the home page looked like back in 2001.

Thanks, will send them a note. Sites are usually pretty good about taking down infringing stuff, just as we are.

Wow, dg_dave, that's a blast from the past - looks like about a year and a half before I first got here. Clicking on the link to "our quizmakers" is odd - I don't know if it feels stranger to see so many now-gone names, or to see how many are still around....

Thanks for passing that along. I'd never seen it. The Home Page looks so much better now. I think it's a wonderful improvement.

Agony, that link was cached one day after I started, March 1, 2001. It does look so different from then until now. One of the Sports editors from then was a mere number...716806.

Thanks so much for providing that link, Dg Dave. It's fascinating to see how the site has changed over the years!

Thank you, dg dave.

I'd been a member here years ago & when I wandered back this way a few months ago, I thought it was a different place at first. That link is more like my fuzzy memory remembers.

Just back from vacation. Thanks to Lones for reporting that and Terry for looking after it.
