Juke Box Jury was one of my favourite programmes as a young teenager, one of the very few on TV at that time that featured any form of Rock N Roll, and the only place you got to hear new releases on mainstream TV. You needed Radio Luxembourg to get "proper" music, dear old Aunty BBC was still pumping out music that your grandparents enjoyed and there were no commercail UK stations in those days. Radio 1 was light years away. David Jacobs was an urbane and polished presenter who managed to not talk down to his mainly teenage audience.

He was always a delight, and never seemed to get any older. He will be missed.

'O'll give it foive' was on the other channel, I believe. Was it 'Ready, Steady Go?'. The other bonus on 'Juke Box Jury' was that they sometimes had pop stars on the panel, so you got to see some of them 'for real'. Nowadays, you can't avoid them.

Janice 'Oi'll give it 5' Nicholls was on Thank Your Lucky Stars. David Jacobs on JBJ had a bell for a 'hit' and a klaxon for a 'miss'.
