confusedI just will never comprehend why such drivel as todays Team Heroes Quiz (Role Playing Games) is accepted or allowed on Fun Trivia.
I bet that less than 1% of our Members are the least bit interested or knowledgeable about this topic.
Very Disappointing!

Believe it or not, there are actually some people who enjoy RPGs, and have therefore written quizzes and questions about them. It might seem like "drivel" to you, but to others, it's a perfectly valid form of trivia. Having your sort of attitude towards it is not in the spirit of the site.

There are a number of categories in which I have so little interest that I would absolutely never play the quizzes there, but clearly there are people who are fascinated, because there are a lot of quizzes to be found there. As such, it is only fair that they should have their time to shine in Team Heroes (or Who's the Expert). Nobody is forced to play the game. (I do so for the possible team points, and hope for the best, when these topics appear in Team Heroes.) One of the great things about this site is its variety - there's something for everyone, and so much from which to choose that you don't need to participate in any activities that you won't enjoy.

Celebrities, Tolkien, Gilmore Girls, Stephen King, Wild Birds, etc... bad for me! There are many subjects that cause me to roll my eyes. However, I have no doubt others roll *their* eyes at Poetry, MLB, and Old Testament, which are subjects that I enjoy. Not everyone is going to be happy all the time.

As a side note... my late husband was one of the foremost D&D players, back in the 70s. Unfortunately, I was disinterested, and learned nothing, so my team did not benefit from his knowledge. tongue

That is the challenge of Team Heroes. Can your team manage a decent average score on topics that are well outside most people's comfort zone. It never fails to amaze me how someone on the team will come up with a decent score on the strangest of subjects to lift the overall average. Whilst Role Playing Games is not going to be on everyone's list of top topics it would be a far duller site if the topics that everyone is good at came up all the time.

I understannd visits and participation are way down at the knitting trivia site because they don't accept crochet questions!

I'm fine with whatever topics come up. I wouldn't have a clue about role playing games, so I'll bow out today, and the people who shine at that topic can carry the team's banner. We all have our interests and areas of expertise, and that's the way it should be.

At least I could play this game and know that my awful score would not affect the overall Team Score. On the other hand, a crochet quiz would be better than knitting for me smile

It's one quiz, on one day. There's another quiz the next day. I still laugh at my score of 0/15 for Star Wars books. I got it in a very good time though! wink

It's too early in the morning for me to draft a coherent response to this, so I'll just say thanks for letting me know that the Team Heroes game is about RPGs. I don't regularly play Team Heroes but would play when the topics is RPGs!

At least I don't ask what those people have done AFTER the show. wink

Unless they go to prison for tax evasion.

Or end up on 'The Amazing Race'...twice.

I don't watch "The Simpsons", so find them more drivel than the "Survivor" ones, which I DO watch. wink

In a loose sense of the word, trivia = drivel.

I agree ssabreman, there is a correlation between "trivia" and "drivel"
If I can learn one tidbit of drivel a day, I hope it keeps senility at bay.

Speaking of drivel, I'd like to register a complaint about "celebrity" type questions on people of note. "Who proved lightning to be electricity?" is a valid trivia question. "What was Laura Ingalls Wilder's first cat's name?" is not. (YES! It's a FITB question!) There are some questions about which absolutely no one does or should care. Similarly, there are many questions about musicians, actors, and other celebrities cluttering up the People category. Any editor have time to go in and weed them out?
