The wishing well in Kingswear, Devon. I didn't try it - I wasn't feeling lucky, there's no pavement (sidewalk) and there was a lot of traffic heading down to the ferry to Dartmouth. So not worth the risk.

My Golden Barrel Cactus. I don't let it roam like those in the earlier CmdrK cacti photo. I keep it chained up in a pot. To torment it I keep its original pot in front of it and comment on how fat it's become! I've had it over 20 yrs. It has only begun to bloom (during the spring and summer) in the last year or two. So those blooming in the other photo are most likely also at least 20 yrs old. I'd expected a much more impressive flower than the purplish brown tufts it sets forth in the crown ring. As you can tell, this one grows well in the foggy region of my front porch.

A slice of my life. From 1986-7 and 1989-91 I passed through this roundabout every week to college in Putney to my counselling course, crawling through an hour plus of rush hour traffic. This is just before Harrow Road in Kensal Rise, I'm sure a few will also know it. I've used it all my life as well but not as much as I did for that period.

I have recently become the very happy owner of an iPad, and have been playing with the camera on it, which is surprisingly good. This was taken in normal electric light, no flash, and it's come out quite well really.

This is a view over some Taranaki countryside towards New Plymouth (where the two lumps in the distance are). We had to stop here on the way up the mound of dirt as we were running out of time. I think we were about 30 minutes short of our destination - a tarn where there is good reflections of Mt Egmont/Taranaki.

This strange building is the new Perth Arena, which is now our main concert venue. All the construction work going on in the foreground is connected with the conversion of our above-ground railway to an underground system. This photo was taken from Perth's Horseshoe bridge, which goes over the railway in the heart of the city.
