1 thing i'm enjoying atm is the The Big Bash on Channel 10 they are doing a great job with the coverage and having Ricky Pointing, Adam Gilchrist, Damien Fleming, Mark Waugh, Viv Richards & Tom Moody on commertary is good.

I watched Craig Simmoms hit the fastest 100 in the BBL history last night that was a good innings from him

Today is the 2nd ODI between Australia vs England i think Australia will win

The Poms have put up quite a fight in this one. They scored 8/296, with Eoan Morgan scoring a terrific 106 off 99 balls. Bell scored 68 and Buttler got 45 quick runs. Should be an interesting run chase.

The media cheese me off a bit .. the headlines just on the news about how England did well ... thanks to the Irishman Morgan. They can't resist a dig!

But I am looking forward to what I hope is a close finish!

Modified score is now 300. An interesting event where the fieldsman, Shawn Marsh, fielded a ball that was over the rope, whilst he was in midair. It was originally given as a two, but has been upgraded to a six.

I remember about 3 years ago, the ICC changed the playing conditions. We were sitting in a room in Ipswich, with Dave Orchard conducting a seminar, and telling us about it. The condition was changed because of an incident, once again at the Gabba, where the possibily was for a player to be quick enough to run up into the stands, jump in the air, and throw the ball back into the field of play so that a teammate could claim the catch. We all thought that this was a bit extreme at the time, but it's turned out to be not too far from the mark!

Australia beat England last night to win the 2nd ODI after James Faulkner smashed Australia to victory with 3 balls left to reach the target of 300

I have no clue how England manage to lose this game when they had it won

Harry Houdini would have been proud of that escape act. I wrote the Aussies off about 50 runs from home.

So are the Aussies 7-0 against England this year?

Yep. 5-0 in the Tests and 2-0 in the ODIs. There are still three more matches in that series.

I'll throw it out there now - I predict England will win one, maybe two of the T20s. Australia struggles in the 20-over game.

I hope so. We need Australia to lose, as we seem incapable of winning anything at the moment.

Today was a humiliating defeat.

Chin up, Rossian. They did beat the PM's XI (even though it included one guy who has never played 1st Class Cricket!).

Australia beat England by 7 wickets to take a 3-0 lead & win the ODI series with 2 games remaining

I was watching the New Zealand vs India ODI i thought for sure India was going to win with Kohli hitting a century but New Zealand bowled them out

Which is more of a powerhouse when it comes to cricket...Australia or England? I don't remember seeing one go 8-0 on the other before...

Historically, they are about even. In recent times, England has had the upper hand, winning the 2005 (2-1), 2009 (2-1), 2010-11 (3-1) and 2013 (3-0) series. In that time, Australia has won the 2006-07 (5-0) and 2013-14 (5-0) series.

Not happy that Bailey has been dropped. I think he brought a lot to the team that isn't seen in basic statistics. If it's the end of his career, then he can proudly point to his only series being a 5-0 whitewash of England, co-holding a world Test record for most runs off an over, and also being directly responsible for 10% of the total English dismissals for the series, having taken 10 catches.
I really thought he should have been given another chance, but it seems that the thinking is leaning toward dropping Watson to 6 and batting Marsh at 3, or dropping Watson altogether and bringing in Marsh and Faulkner.

Mitchell Johnson has won the 2014 Allan Border Medal ahead of Michael Clarke,James Faulkner and Shane Watson.

It's a real shame that Channel 9 or Fox Sports didn't air the Allan Border Medal live tonight instead we get an 1 hour delayed coverage on the GO Channel.

FWIW, there was a free live stream on Cricket Australia TV.

14 Tests were played in 2013, Australia won 5 out of 14, and Johnson played in the same 5 out of 14. I initially didn't agree with the verdict, but when you look at that, as well as the ODIs he played, then yeah, well done Mitch.
