Thanks for this suggestion, Liz I think.
Please post one photo a week of stuff you see in your home town, or somewhere else, that is connected to the theme, like Pillar boxes, lampposts etc. Preferably of interest to people from other regions because of it's unusual design. I am looking forward to this!

I think our local postal delivery bikes are cute. This one I found up by the border with China in a small place called Sha Tau Kok. You have to get a special pass to visit as some of it is in China.I suppose a Post office bike can be called Street furniture? Well loosely.

I'm so used to seeing red postboxes that this yellow one in Cyprus took me by surprise.

As this was my suggestion, I had better post something eh?

Spotted this hydrant when out walking around Belleville today, enjoying the spring weather. It seems to be wearing somebody's mitten as a toque...

I think that is to make them easier to find in the snow. Some also have long arms that stick up high in the air so they can be found under snow banks smile

I have some more, but I was waiting a day or two to make it closer to a week between posts.

Brilliant theme choice!

This isn't strictly 'street furniture' but it's street decoration; a model of a cow, advertising a steakhouse, I think. It's right beside the motorway, and in the evening light the street light is pretending to be a moon, so that the scene looks a lot more romantic than it really was.

Chavs, you are fabulously artistically inclined. Whatever you did for a living previously? You need to focus on your talents xoxoxo

Jake, that's enormously kind of you to say, and I wish I could take credit for a lucky shot, but sadly that's all my pictures ever are. I am usually trying for something completely different when I get one too! However, thank you so much for your encouragement. It means a lot and I really appreciate it.

Some useful street furniture, which I make use of at least once a week, though until recently the bench was buried in a snow bank.

Hope this qualifies as street furniture - an avenue of trees which have been yarn-bombed. This is only a small section of it. It was impossible to get the whole street in one photo.

I'm not at all sure why there are two hydrants so close together, especially as there are not many buildings on that side of the street. Not sure about the different colour schemes either...

How about "Weather"? (It's raining here today, which might have influenced this idea...)
