......The England team also visited an orphanage in Rio today: "It's heartbreaking to see their sad little faces with no hope," said Jose, age 6.

My dearly beloved is less than happy..........in her office "World Cup Sweep" she drew ENGLAND. She asked me (not knowing about football herself) if I thought England had a chance of winning.

Every year, many football teams from Premiership, downwards, enter the FA Cup. IN THEORY each has a chance to win the FA Cup.....in theory! England, in theory, have about the same realistic chance of winning the World Cup on current form, as the League 1 team I support (Colchester United) have of winning the FA Cup..............possible, but HIGHLY improbable.

Still lets have the good old "earwig song"................

"Ere wigo, ere wigo, ere wigoooooooooo" Lol

Tell your lady that England really do stand a chance(yes I know everyone does, but this time they really do.)We joke ,like the above, against ourselves, every time. But this could be it.

Italy v England result exactly as expected by 99% of the fans in this country, and until the powers that be stop our Premier League being occupied by 80% foreign imports we can expect no better.

England has very few important players who can make a difference, and after watching Costa Rica, hopes are fading away from the English team. There's also the physical impact on players. At least two of them suffered of cramps at one point of the match.

Roy Hodgson has announced a series of friendlies when the England team
return from the World Cup.

They will start by playing the Iceland team, and if they beat them will
then play teams from Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys.

One of my team members suggested Suarez (from Uruguay) playing the next match with a muzzle. I do fancy the picture. Now do we add a leash or would that be too harsh?

We got an Englishman to the last World Cup Final and it's possible we can do the same again. Forget the team and the players, we never held much hope out for them, but we've got a referee who might get there. When the World Cup ends, Howard Webb might just be the last man standing. grin
