I enjoy writing children's stories & I hope, one day, to become a published author. I'm currently working on a 5-book series called 'Dragon Star: The Chronicles of Conterra'. On January 17th, 2014, I finished writing the first book in this series, "The Dragon's Realm". I tried sending it to a publisher, but I never heard anything from them. I'm now working on the second book titled "The Mystic Ranger".

Does anyone else enjoy storywriting?

Come on, people! Don't be shy! Surely there must be others who like to write?!

Welcome to Books, Elusive Dream. How long have you been writing your stories?
We have published authors here, in particular Skunkee who is successfully writing marvellously original mysteries. I think she would tell you you just have to keep trying. I bet she had to send her first one out to a good many publishers.
Keep going and good luck!

My little town has a literary open mike once a year, as part of our arts festival. Aspiring writers can read excerpts of stories they're working on to the public - it's a great way to get feedback. I write little semi-humourous essays that also get a good reaction from the crowd.

I started writing "The Dragon's Realm" in September 2010. It was during the writing of this story that I had the opportunity to meet published author Carmel Bird. She showed interest in my story-writing abilities and has encouraged me to continue writing, though it's very difficult to find a publisher whose interested. Since then, I've come up with dozens of new ideas and, besides working on my 'Chronicles of Conterra' series, I've also started on two other stories titled "Meagan's Ghost" and "Welcome to Dinosaurus High".
