Photo is missing, SatG!

Jess and Chip up the back of the truck. He's still just a big pup but is so much bigger than his mum. He's a bit enthusiastic and she gets a bit fed up with him at times hence the scar on his nose.

Time to head higher, to go for a stroll up the extinct volcanic peak of Paku Hill at Tairua on the Coromandel Peninsula. As I am evil there will be a number of photos from this short walk. smile

Here we are looking out over Tairua Harbour and Pauanui Wharf.

Cruise ships do find their way to Timaru on occasion though with this one we did not turn on a beautiful sunny day for the tourists.

There's a local artist, an Aboriginal bloke, who does rock carvings and this is one that he has spent about a week on that will be displayed on the riverbank at Mildura. Will take a few more weeks to finish. It's footprints by the river and the spear that got the Murray cod ... there's a bit more of a Dreamtime story to go with it. Pretty amazing. The rock was about 6 foot long, 3 wide and maybe a foot high.

New tower blocks going up in Colindale. I thought they'd abandoned the idea in the 70s and don't know where everyone will now park and find services in the area as there was only some industry there before. I like to look at them personally but would never live in one.

Fascinating satguru - is that northwest towards Burnt Oak (my guess) or southeast towards West Hendon ? I'm guessing the oriental superstore complex is/was on the left and Colindeep Lane, Merit House, etc is to the right.

Got it Kent Quizzer, it's the junction of Colindeep Lane with the old Zenith House on the right. Since you mentioned it here is what it looked like before it was demolished. It wasn't even old or obsolete. I had no clue it would go a few years after I took this, it just shows you never know what can vanish suddenly and every year somewhere else does I've taken (or not) as well.

I've been quiet for some time; it's a long story.....
During my hiatus, the belligerent Bijou and mild-mannered Mishka have both passed on.
My next cat is a middle-aged lady who had been surrendered to RSPCA with a full history of micro-chipping, vaccinations, etc. Somebody loved her for over 7 years, and now I love her, hopefully for her lifetime.
However, her old name was Puss Puss. Not acceptable!
A new name came to me as I was cackling and stirring a bubbling cauldron of jam.
May I present Grimalkin.......

Welcome back Auntie! Hope all is well now.
Sad to hear of the loss of Bijou and Mishka.
The new lady looks gorgeous, but are you positive about "Grimalkin"?
From my scant knowledge Grimalkin was grey and quite evil. I shall check on the web I may be wrong.Whatever , welcome to New Lady.!.

grimalkin (ɡrɪˈmćlkɪn; -ˈmɔːl-)

1. (Zoology) an old cat, esp an old female cat
2. a crotchety or shrewish old woman

Might be more about me than about the cat :-)
However, if I let her explore the crawlspace under the house, she'll come out grey enough.
My younger grandson calls her "Malcolm".
