"Might be more about me than about the cat :-)" ... ahh that made me laugh. Good to see you, Auntie and Grimalkin too.

We had a moment of excitement at lunchtime today when this feisty little snake started coming under the screen door. It's an eastern brown so highly dangerous. We do leave them alone around the property but kill them when they around (or in!!) the house.

By coincidence Copago, I've just been online looking for realistic "fake snakes" to coil up on my chookhouse roof and hang from the big tree. The Indian Mynahs are driving me mad.
Loved your chookie picture. Is she an ISA brown? They have such quirky personalities if one takes time to observe them.
I have my own few backyard chooks, which might explain this Christmas gift from my niece.

I've looked through all the posts for this month and there are, as usual, some lovely snapshots. Sorry to hear of the loss of Tauriel Howie. Auntie sad to hear of your loss too but good to see you have Grimalkin now.
My dad passed away just before Christmas after a few months of being in and out of hospital. He was 92 (1 month short of 93) and, apart from during WWII he had never been in hospital and was very distressed when there.
Anyway, I'm back now and here is my picture for today, it was taken at Llanberis, North Wales.

The animal theme has caught up with me, I've been using the lovely new editor the last few days to make something from very little, including this pheasant in Hertfordshire.

Sorry to hear about your father Dotb. As we Australians say with respect, at 92 he had a good innings.

My family believes I am chook-obsessed. maybe they're right.
These are my kitchen curtains.

After my time with friends near Limburg it was time to head on to more friends near Prague. On the way I had 2 hours in Dresden while waiting for a connecting train so gathered my luggage and went for a wander, hoping I could find my way back to the train station as I had no map. I chose the right direction to go in as I came across the Zwinger, an early 18th century palace in Dresden and formerly part of the Dresden Fortress. These days it is the home of various museums.

According to ye olde gardenie bookes of Englande, the end of February is still firmly wintertime. Tell that to the Iris.

What a lovely picture to start bringing an end to February, and show that Spring is on the way, hopefully, with the start of March.
I will leave Feb's Fred open for a while, but am opening March for those of us already there. Thanks!

Wow!

That's Fabulous flopsy!

I'm expecting more snow tomorrow so I really need signs of spring from a place sort of almost on a line on the earth from me.
