You're taking up exotic dancing

You're going to use it as some kind of plant support

Phew! None of you got it so I shall be able to keep this magnificent and extremely expensive prize to myself. whistle

CmdrK was closest. The hoop is filled with gravel. I'm going to put a round grobag on top of the gravel and then grow runner beans in it. I have another hoop on the other side of the growhouse for tomatoes. And the gravel will help keep the slugs away!

This is my theory anyway. I've invented this method, it is copyright to moi so clear off all you sneaky gardening tip thieves. grin

I was going to heave bags of compost around today but I've woken up with a terrible cold so that will have to wait - but I will let you know if it works. smile

Years ago, I read that coal cinders spread around would deter slugs. But in the '70s few in New England were heating with coal. And where I live now, few need to heat with anything. laugh

Could well work, slugs and snails avoid going over anything with sharp edges. Eggshells work well as well.

I'm going to add some slug pellets in there too and put another variety on to actual growing medium - it may sound like overkill but the slugs we get round here are terrifying! smile

My dad used to use soot for various things but we don't have coal fires here anymore so getting hold of cinders isn't practical. Honestly, they may be trying to save the environment but I want to kill things!

A view from near Ivinghoe Beacon. I was going to take a lot more on the way back but took a wrong turning so lucky I did a couple first.

Great Spring photos! smile

These oversized tulips look more like summer, I think, but they are spring flowers -- freshly picked from a friend's garden and currently in a vase brightening up a dark room - when the evening sun shines on them they really glow!

They're beautiful. Tulips are so full on - "look at me!" they scream and they can't be ignored. I have a terrible cold so I appreciated the sunshine, thanks! smile

The last of the "from the train" photos before we reach Prague. All I can say is this is the Elbe River a tad past the Konigstein Fortress near Dresden. I am clueless as to the name of the town.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

The front of a ceramic seat in the main street of Kawakawa in Northland, New Zealand. I know there are two people in the photo so please delete the photo if needed.

Edit Reason: I've blurred the faces so they're not identifiable to anyone except their nearest and dearest, which I think is probably enough. People who walk through my photos deserve to be blurred. ;)

The back of the Kawakawa ceramic seat. Yes, it was a slightly damp day on the way north. I was hoping the next day would be okay as we were heading to Cape Reinga.

Ooh, I love those - they look like a small spiky crowd looking the other way and waving. smile

My pic for today is rather more, well, boring. There we were, waving our spring flowers at you all and thinking of planting our tomatoes, when suddenly the temperature dropped and we have frost warnings. It's supposed to be so cold tonight that I wrapped my new growhouse in fleece! You can get special covers for them but why spend the money when there's a length of fleece in the garage?
