Is that No Cycling notice still in force, Satguru? I'd like to see them trying to enforce a "liable... to a fine not exceeding 40/-" -- which, for the sake of the uninitiated, meant forty shillings.

Last year I planted one of the flowerbeds in the back garden with white, blue, and yellow flowers (counting lavender as blue) and the other was white, pink, and red. So far it seems to be working - here's some of the pink:

Another photo just after the snow storm 4 days ago. I was happy nothing fell in Timaru as I don't like the mess it makes when it starts melting. However, the frosts that follow are not pleasant and tomorrow night we could be in line for a record cold temperature in Timaru....forecast is -9c.

A carpet of trilliums (trillia?) in the forest. The trillium is the provincial flower for Ontario, Canada. They are usually white, but apparently as they get older they turn a shade of purple.

What a gorgeous picture! The sharp focus on that beautiful rose, with the background so nicely soft focus, makes for an eye-catching shot

The sign is still legal, I'm not sure whether they can increase the fine though, I'd need to find a case on it. I expect the main thing is deterrence as people know it's not allowed. One of my favourite views of Richmond Park of Roehampton estate.

I love those trilliums. In form they remind me of our wild violets with the triangular flowers, only they look a fair bit larger.

I was looking for some gap pluggers, and found these lovely bedding dahlias.

Macrocarpa tree trunk carvings at Friendly Bay in Oamaru. Not sure how easy it is to pick out the designs.

There are still fields in London if you go out far enough, there was one near me in Finchley till they built houses on it but they still have another one the council have saved. This is in Edgware.

There are two tomato plants in each bag - but two of the plants, one in each bag, are grafted with two different types of tomato so from four plants I should get 6 types of tomato. And from one bag, some crinkly lettuce too.

This thread will close tomorrow when it's no longer June somewhere. In the meantime I shall open a new thread shortly for those where it's July already.

Honestly, when they make you a mod they should ask "can you tell the time?". grin
