The café Toulous in Hampstead Garden Suburb, named as it was two loos. Very good food but not surprisingly expensive for one of the richest areas in the entire world (#1 in one annual survey).

Still have a dead camera, so here is one of the many X grandsons/daughters of the swans on the Avon at the time of Shakespeare at Stratford.

My camera died and I have only old pics , but here is one I liked. Its a moon gate at a nearby park they made when they pulled down the Kowloon Walled Village. (An interesting place to google, the Village not the park).

I remember that park (if it is the same one)! Here is a photo I took inside the park when we visited in 2012.

Some of my first photos were swans on the Avon in 1969

Are we having a swan comp? Here's my entry, entitled very succinctly as:

"Swans circling a dappy duck on a different Avon, watched by a cautious coot"

No white swans on the Avon but as the All Blacks are playing South Africa in the upcoming rugby world cup semi final there is only once choice....black swans at Lake Okareka near Rotorua. Just like with the English team, the swans in white are missing in action. smile

To pass or not to pass, that is the question
Whether 'tis wiser to pass the ball
And to try to put a player in the gap
Or to take the contact and be tackled.
And by doing so, to ruck or to maul.
No more, and by a side step, to say we score.

Looks like these swans know a little Shakespeare... smile

I made a trip to the city (Perth) today to take care of some business and to attend the French Festival. Snapped this as I was walking past - it's our Government House, where the Governor of Western Australia lives, and where the Royals stay when they visit Perth.

Although you can't see them in this photo, there was a team of people gardening and cleaning throughout the grounds - sprucing the place up for the forthcoming visit of Prince Charles and Camilla in November.

Somewhere in the valley and among the forest is the small town of Krivoklat in the Czech Republic, population less than 700. A little bit of it seen from Krivoklat Castle.

Royal Parade in Chislehurst. If it's named royal it probably has to be by law.

*cough* I know that Dave's picture is much too large and I'd normally resize it "just like that" (waves magic wand and conjures up old British magician/comedian Tommy Cooper) but as it's Halloween and it is pretty scarey, I'm going to leave it as it is until Sunday when the passing ghosts will depart, leaving things as they should have been...

Pretty neat pumpkin, Dave!

You may be wondering why I have posted this photo. We are just under 10 hours away from the rugby world cup final where New Zealand will meet Australia. Go the All Blacks, paint London black. smile
