"That is impressive CmdrK, and very lucky there were no clouds or a wing in the way."

We do have cloudy days here, but not many. And I used a bit of telephoto so the port engine nacelle wouldn't show in the picture.

A beautiful sight indeed! The only window I've seen that compares with it is Paxton & Whitfield's in Jermyn Street.

Gloucestershire has more than one great cheese shop - there's also the Cheeseworks in Cheltenham, which used to be owned by a Masterchef finalist but now belongs to, er, someone else.

So, you want cheese eh?

There are still some specialty shops in the U.S. that will cut a hunk of cheese to order, but mostly it's now prepackaged cheeses. This picture shows about half the cheeses a supermarket near me carries.

My latest pre-1964 sign in Hertfordshire. It's almost identical to one I already have (besides being raised letters), but the arrow is in the middle rather than the corner. Unfortunately the shaft has gone but still clear where it's pointing to.

Several of us seem to have incurred the wrath of the gods of photobucket. Let's hope they are in a better mood tomorrow.

I went to a scrapbooking retreat this past weekend. One of the ladies at the retreat looks after orphaned joeys (baby kangaroos) and brought one along because he required bottle feeding every few hours. This is Hamish - he's 8 months old. He spent the retreat snoozing in a bag hung on the back of a chair while we worked (this simulates his mother's pouch where he would normally be doing much the same thing). Isn't he cute?
