The M23 motorway south of Horley. It starts over 20 miles south of London and after just beginning an extension just past Croydon in the 70s it was abandoned, leaving the bits behind forever.

St Edward's Church in Golders Green, somewhere I passed on the bus home for about seven years from school.

When in doubt it's Golders Green

If anyone remembers OnimisiB who sometimes posts his photos here from Nigeria this is where I took him when he passed through London on his way home from Switzerland.

A rarity... A friendly wild Canada Goose, Branta canadensis at Chew Valley Lake south of the city of Bristol. Any readers interested in bird watching or bird photography, I can highly recommend a visit... More to follow.

This is a male Common Pochard, Aythya ferina a small duck that obtains most of its by either diving or up-ending. It was a shame that the light wasn't better as he has the most gorgeous brick red coloured head which contrasts well with his pale grey wings and finely striped flanks. These little chaps really are lovely to look at.

So sorry to hear that your dog has passed away, Dave. I know you will miss her very much. Although I consider myself a 'cat person', I still really, really miss my dog (he passed away three years ago). Sincere condolences.

This was my dog, Lucky (he was a rescue dog and he came with that name). This was taken at the "Million Paws Walk", a fundraiser for the RSPCA. (Had to crop hubby out of the photo).

Sincere condolences for the loss of your four-legged friends Dave and MG, both lovely looking creatures.

This is my lad Oliver who I lost nearly eight years ago now. He was also a rescue from almost certain death after he came to the end of his racing career... Lovely lad!

Oliver has the sweetest face - funnily enough, although we don't really know what breed Lucky was, we were told he was a dalmatian-greyhound cross when we got him. You could certainly see the dalmatian in him but we weren't too sure about the greyhound bit (and neither were the vets we consulted). What kind of dog was Roxy, Dave?

She was a pit bull mix. We aren't sure what the mix was with.
