Hello and welcome.................we had "Two Tabbies Too".............sadly dear old "Tabitha Twitchett", aka "TWITCH", or "Momma Twitch", crossed the Rainbow Bridge aged 20 years 10 months. We still have "The Lad", a silver tabby called LEO, who is now 15 years old.

Hi, thanks very much for the welcome, I have 6 cats, 1 ginger, 1 calico, 1 black, 1 tortoiseshell and 2 blotch tabbies, love them to bits! Oh, I'm sorry for your loss, 20 is a great age for a cat.

We "peaked" at 6 cats.........Twitch, Cally (Calico), Sharna (Dark Torty), Gemini (Dark Torty), Freya (Reverse Tuxedo- white with a bit of black), and Leo.

They were what I called our "first generation" cats..........sadly only Leo still alive.

Currently 3 cats..........Leo (as mentioned), Kelda (Long haired black & White), aged 10, Siree (short hair tuxedo)aged 14.

All cats, bar Twitch, rescue animals.

Hello, Londoners. I'm heading to London at the end of July. Will be then heading off on a whistle-stop tour of Scandiwegia before heading back to Sussex, then home. Will be based in Bloomsbury.

Any ideas for good places for pub or good cafe food? Have lots of activities planned otherwise. (Really looking forward to a night at the Proms!)

I'm not in London all that much these days so I hesitate to give advice on individual pubs/cafes (they change so often that a country hick like me can't possibly know) but one thing I do when I'm there, particularly at lunchtime, is eat street food. London has become a great cosmopolitan foodie's heaven, with food from all over the world, not just showing itself off but also joining other cuisines in fusion food. But the pop up restaurants, cafes, and markets stalls change all the time so google for the latest spots - "London street food" will give you a lot of results - then head for whatever takes your fancy. Borough Market has some great food, but so do lots of other places!

I can only go back a couple of decades to when I used to eat around there when my mother was still working nearby. There was a very good large Italian cafe by the arcade on Southampton Row just south of Russell Square, and is definitely a good hotel cafe behind it open all hours in the Royal National. There was also a very good continental restaurant we sometimes went to after a concert in the Wigmore Hall almost next door to it in Wigmore Street the other side of Tottenham Court Road. They were my personal favourites and within walking distance if you go and check them out whether still there or not.

Otherwise this website is the most comprehensive guide I know as it takes photos of the food as well and is run on a totally voluntary basis by an internet friend from Croydon. Randomness Guide

Enjoy your trip and if you're around Hendon call me up!

Thanks to both of you. I am definitely going to make the most of this trip!

Incidentally saguru, you have obviously had the same problem with Photobucket that I had. Wesley and Flopsy have some good ways around this. I can now use my own photos again. I'm not sure why my current avatar has never shown up in these chat threads - I used that dozy fly avatar when I first joined in 2012.

Hendon rings a bell from things my Dad told me. We lived in Middlesex before migrating to Oz in the 50's.

I'm travelling with a friend for the first fortnight. We're parting company in Copenhagen, I'm doing a short whistle-stop of Scandinavia, and will be back in GB for the last week of my trip. Cousins in Sussex for a day or two, but otherwise free.

I have deactivated the account. It can't be deleted entirely because that would remove your posts.
