I was going to take a pic of the miniature irises poking their heads above the soil but then the 'Beast from the East' arrived to bury them, followed closely by Storm Emma who made sure I can't even see the garden. March roaring in...

This unusual vehicle is the Swedish Stridsvagn 103, or 'S' tank. The Strv 103 entered service in the early 1960s and was withdrawn in 1997. This vehicle was the only post WW2 main battle tank that dispensed with a rotating turret and remains unique in that respect. It was also the first tank to enter service anywhere in the world to be fitted with a turbine powerpack. The Strv 103's gun was traversed by turning the vehicle on its tracks and elevated using the vehicles suspension system with the roles of driver and gunner being performed, again uniquely, by the same crew member. The steel gridwork attached to the front of this vehicle is a form of protection intended to negate the effect of HEAT ammunition.

This may actually look like a piece of junk but is now one of only a few left in Britain of what was a very common sign when I was a child, and replaced by a blue version with small letters in 1964. I had to travel over 100 miles to get this in Dorset.

This was my first visit to Devon since 1995 and it was already getting dark when I arrived in Exeter. Here's one of the better results.

This is the actual Brent (river) Cross by the eponymous shopping centre which was opened in 1976 and took me about 30 years to get bored with.

Milborne Port in Somerset. It rained the entire time I was in the west country and lost quite a few photos as the rain blurred the views.

This is a view of a number of 15th and 16th Century houses in Mill Street, Warwick. It is believed that the headquarters of the Knights Templar in England was located in the vicinity from where I took this photograph.

The view from the top of the hill in Kingsbury, with the new tower block we can see from all around for some distance.

This is Canonteign Falls, claimed to be the highest waterfall in England near Chudleigh, Devon. Disappointingly they are man-made; but very pretty nonetheless.

Great action photo, probably 1/1000th of a second or less.

The recently built gym near me I am now going to when the weather allows it.

Thanks, it's always useful to note for the future. I have some say over my Panasonic if it doesn't manage on auto, and gives me more options to improve the results.

A ploughed field in the middle of Norfolk, spread with manure as I discovered when I got in the car.
