I have filtered out several categories from my 'Quality New Quizzes' list considering the categories I play and create quizzes in are very restricted.

However, it seems that even the regular 'New Quizzes' list has these categories filtered, which I don't like, because there are times when I want to view the new quizzes in all categories. Is there any way I can disable the filters only for the regular 'New Quizzes' list?

If there isn't a way, it only makes sense to restrict the filters to the 'Quality New Quizzes' list.

Can anybody help?

Also, I'd like to add here that the 'Newest from Gold Members' list seems to be exactly similar to the regular list...

Harish, you might want to try my system. I don't use filters at all, that way I have a chance to see all new quizzes. Instead I ask to be notified of new quizzes in the categories that I play the most, so that I don't miss those that I really do want to see. It works for me. I think that if you use filters they are going to work on all 'new' lists, so this might be a way around it for you.

That makes sense and is probably a good idea, but then what's the point of having three different lists all with the same function?

I've just noticed that the 'Quality New Quizzes' list is showing different quizzes from the 'New Quizzes' list. On what basis are quizzes put into the 'Quality New Quizzes' list?

Is that the only requirement to make it to that list? I see several quizzes in the 'New Quizzes' list that don't appear in the 'Quality New Quizzes' list.

Terry is the only one who is privy to the precise mechanics of how Quizzyland functions/operates. He has many algorithms and moving averages running in the background - some he explains, and some he doesn't. He explained this one back in Aug 02: Quiz Ranking Algorithm Modified. It probably has an input into the listing you're looking at.

Quality New Quizzes list only quizzes from quiz authors who historically have written interesting, well written quizzes.

How the system determines that I'll keep to myself

Terry, what you might like to do is modify the Next 30 link, at the bottom of the Quality New Quizzes list. Currently, it takes you to:

http://www.funtrivia.com/quizlistgold.cfm?newest=1&listfrom=31

It might be preferable if it linked to something like:

http://www.funtrivia.com/quizlistgold.cfm?newest=1&quality=1&listfrom=31

Just an idea!
