robinPhD got 10/10 in 16 seconds last hour - now that time seems unbelievably fast for a perfect score, but I'm not making accusations of anything!
Now I see narasa got 0/10 in 4 seconds in this hours game. Now that's fast, but 4 seconds? Did time stand still?

I rather wondered about the 16 seconds myself, but I suppose it is possible.

The 0/10 in 4 seconds is easy to explain - the person accidentally hit the enter key as soon as the screen loaded, thus submitting the (unanswered and probably unseen) quiz. I did it once myself...

Well I had changed some of the question selection code around to increase performance on the server, so there WAS a way to cheat... it's pathetic some people chose to do so. I've removed it.

Just like to report the opposite to the above. I just played the latest Hourly quiz, and was timed at 1444 seconds! That was the fastest 24 minutes of my life.

You know, I have observed something that is odd to me. Everytime a certain person plays (and almost always has the highest score), another person plays. This person scores 0 in just a few seconds. Strangely enough, they are from the same city and country. I know that cheating is going to happen. I just enjoy playing. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose--and sometimes I really embarass myself!

Once again I am seeing some unbelievably quick scores, including a 14 second perfect score. Has your recent tinkering re-opened the possibility of cheating, Terry?

I love doing the hourly quiz, however I suspect it's on its deathbed.

So far today they look reasonable, Terry. Thanks. It's when they start to sink under 20 seconds that I get suspicious.

Terry, the "Romanians" (Melanny, Corres, Basty and others) are obviously beating the system. Have you noticed that there's a 0 from 5 seconds or so from one of them, and then Melanny scores 10 in 26 seconds or so, every time. They've got to be cheating somehow. You can't tell me Melanny knows everything about everything but that's what it looks like. He/she is just TOO quick, too accurate. What do others think?

In the latest hourly quiz, one player (susanmunro) seems to have been recorded twice, with identical scores. Her blurb lists her as coming from Stirling, UK, and the player who is leading (gerskine) is from the same place...

I have been watching Melanny et al for a couple of days, and tend to agree that some system is being worked there. The others are less suspicious, because both do well in the same hour.

I also noticed the double listing, ozzz.

Something even weirder just happened. About 10-15 minutes ago I saw that Corres was in first place, and gerskine was in second place for the hourly quiz. But when I look back at the scores for that quiz, gerskine is now in first place and Corres is now in second place. Corres and gerskine have switched places. Now, I hope this is Terry fixing something, because I would hate to see a Funtrivia member fooling around with scores. I find this very odd. Plus susanmunro still has his/her name up their twice. I wonder why that has happened. I just find this very odd. I hope this glitch can be fixed.

I enjoy playing the hourly, and it's fun seeing my name up there when I do well (which is not often). However, it is discouraging to always be bumped down by these trivia "speed readers". I hope something can be done to discourage this, since it appears honesty and integrity doesn't exist for some.

Yesterday , from the time the quiz started till now I was being told I already played today. I didn't, as I was out all day. Is it another glitch? Is it happening to others?

Happened to me too. I was told that I didn't play yesterday, when I had, and that I had already played today, when I hadn't. I thought it might have had something to do with the time change here in North America, but it doesn't seem likely, as I played quite early yesterday, about 6:30 am.

If it's the daily quiz that we're talking about, I've had the same problem. I first tried to do the quiz about twelve hours ago: I've tried several times since and I keep getting the "You've already played today" message. And I'm pretty sure the top scores shown are yesterday's.

I guarantee you that the top score is not yesterday's. The person in position 2 (actually tied for first), at least when I just looked, scored a miserable 8/20 yesterday. (And yes, I'm talking about myself ).

It seems everyone is having problems with the Daily Quiz. See question 46034 in Ask.FunTrivia.

The people who are cheating are getting the answers from somewhere as if you notice they never do well in the true or false round where the answers are not given. Also as stated these people cannot know everything.Lets have a level playing field for everyone

gerskine/susanmunroe seem to do well every time they log on but can you tell us how many times they have won the true or false round?

Did anyone else notice that each time the scores are written up, gerskine and susanmunro are always right below each other and how one is always 2 seconds slower then the other one? Something very odd is going on here.

I was told I had played the "Daily Quiz" all day yesterday too I just do my best on the Daily Game and the hourly quiz and guess at some of the answers! Not as fast as some people though!
