Now, there may be a chance that you could find some of these answers in our Sports Forum. If so, consider it a "freebie"!

1) Let's start with an easy one. This year, the Masters will be held where (it's always held here) and when? Give the Club and the City/State.

2) The first Masters was held when?

3) Who won the first Masters Tournament?

4) Beginning in 1940, it was scheduled each year to be played in the first full week in April. However, in 3 particular years, it wasn't played. When and why?

5) To assist the war effort, was was done with the Club's grounds?

6) What is the clothing that has become known as the symbol of this tournament?

7) Who was the first recipient of the item in #6?

8) When can the item in #6 be worn?

9) When was the first televised Masters?

10) Who, at age 46, became the oldest Masters champion in history with his 6th win?

11) Each hole at the Club where the Masters is played is uniquely named. Why? What are the holes named for?

12) Arnold Palmer has an interesting claim to fame as a Masters champion. What is it?

Well, the rest of you just didn't buzz in fast enough it appears!!! Sandra takes the FT Purple Jacket as the prize!

To expand on some of the answers for those of you who are curious:

In 1937, club members began to wear the green jackets. Each new Masters champion wins a jacket and is helped into it by the previous year's winner. The champion takes it home for a year and only wears it for golf-related events and social gatherings. No one seems to know where the idea for the jacket originated, but Snead was, indeed, the first to obtain this famous symbol!

In 1963, Nickalaus won his first of six Masters, and in 1975, he became the first 5 time winner. It was in 1986 that he became the oldest winner with his 6th win.

Each hole is named after a plant or tree. This is because the property was once an indigo plantation. It was also purchased by a horticulturist who operated Fruitlands Nurseries (an importer of many trees and plants from various countries).

Palmer did win the most wins, but what makes it especially interesting is that it was every even year from 1958 to 1964.

Great job, Sandra!
