Round XXX - The LAST Tuesday Questions for a while

Tuesday November 30th.

Remembering the good old days when the San Francisco 49ers were the team to beat in the NFL led me to write these questions... This season they are 1-10, and hopefully they do badly enough to get the first round draft pick...

The questions:

Question I: Name a San Francisco 49er that has had his jersey retired...
Question II: Name a rookie drafted first by the 49ers in the 1980's...
(for instance, in 1996, the first player drated was Israel Ifeyani, although he was picked only in the second round...)
Question III: Name a year in which the 49ers won a Superbowl
Question IV: Name one of the top 7 scoring leaders all-time for the 49ers...
Question V:Name a member of the 1992 49ers players that was selected for the Pro-Bowl...
(1992 means 1992 season, that ended in 1993)

For a bonus 5 points:
What are the San Francisco 49ers named for?

Good luck to all!

Seven People participated this round.

1: An Actor Who Played the President of the U.S. on Film

10: Harrison Ford ("Air Force One"), Anthony Hopkins ("Nixon"), Christopher Macdonald ("Spy Kids 2"), Martin Sheen ("Family Attraction"), Jack Young ("Yankee Doodle Dandy").

5: John Travolta ("Primary Colors", 2 people)

Jack Young's appearance as FDR in 1942 was the first time anyone ever dared portray a living (let alone a sitting) U.S. President.

2: An Element from the 1st column of the Periodic Table

10: Lithium, Potassium
5: Hydrogen (2), Sodium (3)
Not mentioned: Cesium, Francium, Rubidium

Although Hydrogen is typically placed in the first column, in some ways it has more in common with the 2nd to last column (the halogens) than the elements in its own group. However, if you put hydrogen under so much pressure that it becomes a solid, it will tend to behave like a metal. It is quite possible that metallic hydrogen lies at the center of gas giant planets like Jupiter and Saturn.

3: A Nickname of a French King Louis
10: The Fat (Louis VI), The Pious (Louis I)
5: The Sun King (Louis XIV, 4 people)
Not mentioned (in roughly chronological order, and probably not a complete list): The Stammerer, The Indolent, The Younger, The Lion, St. Louis, The Stubborn, The Spider King, The Father of His People, The Well-Beloved (twice), The Beloved.
There was one answer which was not accepted.

I'm not sure if the last few French Kings really were that much better than their predecessors or if they just exerted tighter controls on those writing about them. Thejazzkickazz has a quiz on some other rather unfortunate Royal Nicknames

4. A Shakespearean Tragedy

10: King Lear, Macbeth, Othello
5: Hamlet (2), Timon of Athens (2)
Not mentioned: Several, most notably Romeo and Juliet

5: A Party in the Australian Parliament

10: Family First, Country Liberal
5: Australian Labor (2), Australian Greens (2)
One person chose not to answer

Parties not mentioned include the Democrats, the Nationals, and the main branch of the Liberal Party, the latter two of which lead the government in coalition with the one representative of the Country Liberals.

Total Scores:
40: BbSean, ElfTwinkle, Ozzz2002
35: beaker411, justanobody
30: Julia103
15: JaneMarple

Congrats to BbSean, ElfTwinkle, and Ozzz2002 and thanks everybody who participated!

I'm not going to close Round XXX with only two people that played. Either more play or it'll be void.

Think about it, if 2 people play, then they both get identical points as long as both give correct answers.
