I don't want to pre-judge anyone but how I just saw a person who has back to back quizzes put online, one right after the other with no quizzes in between. At the same day probably at the same time. Is it possible that this person submitted more than one quiz at a time? If so, is that a practice allowed now?

No, it's still not allowed to submit more than one quiz at a time. They may have submitted a second quiz as soon as the first one got online, and if they are in different categories the editors may have not noticed the previous quiz.

There were a few instances of one coming through with a correction on it and a new one that I saw. I think it might have been a glitch, but it's theoretically possible.
If a person had one that needed something fixed, or a category change, and had another one submitted, the system might accept that.

I am one of those that sometimes gets two quizzes online in one day. Often if a quiz is in the queue a long time I make several more while I wait. When one goes on, I submit the other. If there is a long queue, especially in music, the editors sometimes get together and empty out that catagory. So if one quiz is accepted and I submit another, sometimes I'm submitting to an empty queue. That is how you can get two quizzes online in one day. I don't know about the same time, that's odd!

Do editors post their own quizzes on-line or do they have to submit it to another editor?

Editors don't edit their own quizzes. We submit them and wait for a co-editor to edit them.

Just in case you're referring to my two quizzes which went online Feb 16, the first quiz was put online earlier in the evening, but due to a glitch, didn't appear on the new quiz list until the editors looked in to the problem. The second quiz didn't go online until later. The fact that no other quizzes went online in between them is beyond my control.

The system doesn't allow quizmakers to submit more than one quiz at a time.

By the way, as you've noticed, categories like music get sluggish as they get more new quizmakers and their submissions require a lot more work as you're essentially teaching them how to use the guidelines and make a workable quiz. Though you see that in terms of numbers, it might mean that the five quizzes are all from first time submissions, therefore more time consuming.

But technically an editor could edit their own quiz and put it on-line, couldn't they? I mean it is always better to have a new pair of eyes look at your work, but being an editor couldn't one just say "yup, looks good" and put it on?

The standing policy is that editors don't put their own quizzes online unless that person is the only editor in the category to which they are submitting.

Cris, since you are the sole editor in three categories, can another editor put a quiz online in those categories, if they are a senior editor?

I feel much better having someone look mine over.
What if I'd pasted in the wrong question in the wrong blank in error?

Ditto. Two eyes are always better than one. I remember one time about a year ago when Lord Andry found a bunch of typos ina quiz I had submitted. Had I just put it online myself, I would have been extremely embarassed!

I know I don't like to misspell words, whether it be a typo or not. My mother instilled that into my brother and I. It would be nice if more people knew how to correctly spell. Kudos to those who do!
